Telkom denies blocking MyADSL

Hi there

I am not certain what the case is regarding certain employees accessing MyADSL, but it may well be that a certain employee is blocked while MyADSL is not blocked as a website on the network. It is will good to hear from such employees in this thread or even by PM.

During a recent visit to Kimberley, I used the local Telkom shop for Internet access (1 hour permitted per day). On one of the days, MyADSL.co.za wouldn't open, the next day it did. Hellkom worked fine all the time. But that was a few weeks ago.

“Telkom does not grant Internet access to employees whose core job functions do not require it. The MyADSL website is not currently blocked to those employees who have Internet access,” said Lulu Letlape: Group Executive for Corporate Communication at Telkom.

“However, Telkom may, at its own discretion and according to its Information Security Policy, block any site it deems inappropriate,” Letlape continued.

A friend at Telkom told me that apparently Hellkom isn't blocked and people are encouraged to check the site out and turn all our wonderfully thorn-in-the-side comments around to Telkom's advantage.. that must take ages.

So Myadsl is either blocked and lulu is lying or they deemed myadsl inappropriate? 6 and half a dozen seems like...
 
Grrr this makes my blood boil, I feel like kicking this arrogant, ignorant woman in the balls! :mad: They just openly lie without remorse, I'd take Gangstarr's word over hers any day!

Only in this country do we think of shocking service levels and high prices as an advantage. Oi wei.
 
 
Off course they wont admit that they block it. Would be like shooting themselves in the foot
 
We need to get MyADSL as high as possible in the Google rankings when searching for Telkom!

I was told by a Telkom employee (who has got internet access) that he could not access this forum directly and that it was blocked on Telkom computers WITH internet access. He used some round about way to actually get on to the forum, think he had to use the IP and not the dns addy, but I could be wrong there.

So yet again, more freaking lies... Thanks Telscum we know we can trust you:sick:

erm.. no everyone is blocked not just me. u have to dial up with ADSL or ISDN or Dailupinternet before you can go online. and thats far to much effort and SURPRISE! I need to work.
just walking blindly to some of the ppl that are fortunate enough to have Internet at telkom via the lan and they all blocked ( checked 4 users ... should be enough ) and what u mean by pm aint no telkom coming on here no more. not even the undercoverones
