Thanks a bunch for the feedback. The comms department was truly surprised when I asked them about the block, which gave me the impression that some employees may have been blocked on an individual basis. From your feedback there are indeed some blocks in place…definitely not good! I think I must ask Papi directly about this one. All his customer centric talk but blocking a site like MyADSL??

The other question is .. what is the 'discression' and who is deciding it? I have seen places where the IT security department is a MCSE dropout with the personality of a small soap dish.

I can't access myadsl.co.za on my SAIX based account - seems to be a DNS issue.

If I do a DNS lookup of myadsl.co.za on a SAIX dns server I get zilch.
If I do the same using an IS DNS server then I get the IP.
mybroadband.co.za resolves fine on both SAIX and IS accounts.

Is this a related problem?

To use the keyword ‘Telkom’ and link it to telkom.co.za will therefore lift the rank of telkom.co.za for the keyword Telkom. If one however uses the keyword Telkom and link it to xyz.co.za it will lift the rank of xyz for the keyword Telkom

OK, but then ic has to stop bastardizing Telkom product names in his posts and sigs in order for the linkage to work properly

Webmarshal software blocks MyAdsl after a user looks at the "SA pr0n ban threads". It can only be cleared by a sysadmin not a luser...just fyi
