Telkom DSL Top Up Page

Hi guys,

Need some help. Seems like recently one of the laptops or computers in my house started doing its windows update, and we only have a 1GB account from Telscum. Last night i tried the new DSL top up but after I enter all my credit card details and hit submit I get an error message after about a minute or so when the page loads stating "the Payment gateway is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

I've only got local bandwidth and I have to check emails and do work on intl B/W. Any idea what one could do? Do I just wait it out and see if Telkom one decides that it might be a problem that their Top Up page doesn't work...
Has anyone managed to top up on their accounts in the past couple of days?

Do yourself a favour and rather get a Webafrica pay as you go account - the bandwith doesn't expire at the end of the month.
 
How does that work?
You signed with Telkom to provide you x amount of bandwidth a month, which they do. You dont have to use that although it would be stupid not to use it but for extra you can use another ISP. Buy from their site, you will be supplied with a username and password, put it into your router setup page, and bobs your oom. :D

I checked around on a few websites, and to do that costs a lot more than R64 for an additional Gb. If I could do it for under R100 it would be great! But that doesn't seem to be available...sigh.
 
You can top up for R70 at WebAfrica. Less at Axxess if I am not mistaken.

I just did that. but it doesnt appear that my account is activated. I paid by credit card, so it shouldve been instant. But whenever I change the username and password on my router, nothing happens... I cant connect.:mad:

I think there might be a slight delay due to fraud I think someone said. Not too worry though. It will work soon. Maybe someone else can confirm
 
WebAfrica has always been instant for me?
 
The Webafrica Prepaid account is PPPoE with Dynamic IP right? Cuz nothing happens when I change my username and password in the router settings page.

I've been trying to topup my account since Friday and telkom cant tell me when this will be fixed :mad:. This is driving me crazy!!
 
I Assume you saved the settings and rebooted the router if it is required...;)
 
i am also with telskum but yesterday i checked my prepaid vouchers that i have had for about 4 months from axxess and they still work so i have been downloading games with one of them.

There was an issue, but I believe it is now working.
