Telkom mailbox full. 3gig.
Cannot delete any more mails as its important business communications.
Afrihost created co. za email at a cost and setup 2 PC desktops.
They requested me to inform Telkom to Forward their Telkom emails to my new Afrihost co. za address.
Telkom says it cannot be done.
What now. I have 6500 mails on Telkom Server. I use Outlook 365.
Everyday the mailbox becomes nearly full. I have deleted 4000 mails in 6 weeks. Can't delete the rest. Telkom also don't want to increase gigs of mailbox!!??

Anybody that can assist please. Appreciate.
Richard.

Use Outlook (paid) / Thunderbird (free), Gmail or any other mail client on your computer and retrieve the emails via IMAP or POP, whichever Telkom supports. Remove emails on Server then.

Using IMAP to access the emails will sync the emails between PC and Server. What you delete on PC will delete on Server, what you delete on Server will delete on PC. In Outlook you can then create a new PST file, set up the folders you want and move the files over. This will then remove the files from server but you will have them all in the new PST file. Outlook also has an Archive option, but will need to do a bit more reading on that.

Using POP (POP3) you will have an option in your mail client to remove emails from server once downloaded. Can usually also specify a time period before it is removed from the server.

Whatever you do, make sure the person helping you know what they are doing and you are aware of the pro's and con's. I do not take responsibility for any loss or damages caused.

Another option is to open a gmail account:

Then once created, make sure you remember you log in details and password, and I suggest also provide a backup phone number or email in case you do forget your details, can do the following:

1. Go to settings top right, gear icon

2. Select "See All Settings"

3. The add your Telkom Email (I removed my persronal info):

When you add your telkom emails you will have the option to delete the emails from the telkom server or keep them once added to gmail.

You now have a backup of all your mail in gmail.

You can find more info here: (I just googled the website, not sure how accurate)

@Nospaceleft another option is to chat to someone from domains.co.za to set up a bigger mail server for you at a small monthly cost. @Domains.co.za (Wayne). Maybe they can help you migrate as well so there is no data lost.
Hi.
First of all I have to thank you for going out of your way to assist.
You are just one of a kind. A very good kind!!
In general not a lot of people will go to all this trouble to help any other "stranger" with what you are currently doing to do. I therefore Salute you.
Most of these things I know a little about or have just heard of it. My ONLY problem is I CANNOT LOSE ANY EMAIL that is on the TELKOM SERVER!!! That will be FATAL for my small business that I live of and the family and a few more.

So before I press the final button to save or transfer or to archive or move those mentioned 6500 mails I HAVE to KNOW the emails is now say on Outlook or Gmail or wherever and USEABLE as it is now everyday!
I had Windows Live Mail before, and my son backed it up years ago. I checked today. Mails of 2012 ALL there but merely to go check what you need. The mails ( as far as I know cannot be worked on.. SENT or FORWARDED) IT'S just stored information???
Now THIS CANNOT HAPPEN HERE!! The Telkom mails we use is on Two Desktops. All mails come to both Telkom email adressess on both Computers the same time. Its set up like that.
Afrihost added the co. za mail address to both PCs successfully.
They couldn't ADD the co. za email address on my Android mobile phone on OUTLOOK.
Today they switched to my Gmail email account also on my phone and both PCs and ADDED the co. za address to my Gmail email account on my phone successfully.
So I now have 4 email accounts currently.

Telkomsa. net
Gmail.com
Hotmail.com
....richard.co.za

Sorry about all the explaing and details, but I still need to get to where the 6500 mails can be handled to be in a position to just keep on operating with it like now in OUTLOOK wherever without LOSING a SINGLE mail.

I am certain with ALL of the info you gave any person with definate more knowledge than myself will be able to understand your explanation etc to do this % correctly.!!!
You didn't know that I have a Gmail account for instance. Now that you know more about my setup maybe you might even have a quicker solution or the a simpler exact way to solve what is a small problem for you but a massive one for me.
If you feel you have to add anything to what you have already given me to enable an easier way out of my issue, I will really appreciate if you can assist me further, BUT I DO not want to waste your time unnecessarily!!
You must have a real passion for helping others that's so stupid as myself, but I again thank you Sir!!!
You are A STAR.
THANKS a lot once again.!!!!!!
