So I have had this issue now for a very long time. ADSL speeds on a 4mb line extremely slow during the evenings, I can barely get 2mb line speeds after 6pm. Logged faults with Telkom without any success, at one point they even messed things up completely and I lost connection for almost 2 weeks.
The problem is definitely at the exchange, one useful technician at least gave me that much information. His solution was to move me to another exchange but low and behold that never happened.
The problem now is, as soon as I log a call with Telkom they go and close the call almost immediately. I'm at wits end and I'm seriously considering moving to another Internet solution, problem is where do I go?
I do not have Fiber in my area, and no hope of getting fiber soon. WIFI solutions like Neotel is an option but it seems a bit expensive for the same speeds.
I just wish Telkom would fix our damn exchange, they know it's one of the most heavily congested ones in JHB and a lot of people have complained about it but it doesn't seem like they care or know how to solve it.
