Please can someone help, I have spoken to 5 different Telkom employees and gotten 7 different answers (Yes, one of them gave me 3 different answers.)

If I sign up for one of Telkom's FTTH offers, for example the 10Mbps 50Gig Soft Cap package, what will happen if I use the full 50Gigs?

I'm assuming it's one of the following options:
A) My internet stops working and I'm fully capped.
B) I can purchase more data but until I do I'm capped.
C) I get charged out of bundle rates for any data I use over my 50Gigs.
D) My line speed is throttled for the remainder of the month or until I buy more data.

I was told by a tech who installs Fiber that option D is correct and that my line speed will be throttled to 4Mbps.

50Gigs is never going to be enough for a month but if the only down side to being soft capped is that my line speed drops from 10Mbps to 4Mbps then sign me up!!!

Any feedback would be awesome! Thanks!

The throttling is much more severe...

Schedule any non-urgent downloads or application updates to the night surfer slot (00h00-07h00) as it won't come off your capped allocation.

D but 384 kbps not 4Mbps, tested it out myself. (was also told 4Mbps)

Thanks for the info!

biena, once you are soft capped, does full speed return from midnight to 7am?

It does not, you need to have data in your bundle for the night-surfer to work.

Hey you 2 the question was directed at me  Stop stealing my answers :p
