It looks like my ADSL order has been completed! At least, I put the details in at http://www.telkom.co.za/verifyadsl and it says that my order has been processed.
So I want to test it out when I get home this evening - I have my own router, so I don't need to wait to pick one up from the Telkom shop. I'm trying to buy 1Gb local from WebAfrica to test with, but I'm having problems ordering so I don't know if I'll get it by this evening. The Telkom self-install guide says that Telkom modems are set up with a default guest username and password that lets you connect to telkom sites, so that you can do the verify - but since I'm using my own router, I don't have that username/password. Is that something that someone could post or PM me? (Obvviously I'm not asking for anyone's actual, paid for, account details!) Or do I have to wait until I can either get the Telkom modem or my 1Gb local?
