However, I've read that anyone who has a DSL account with Telkom can apply for a Sim.
What's the process to apply for the sim card. I heard the call centre isn't clued up on the product

You just go into a Telkom store pal, and ask them for a sim and for it to be linked to your DSL account. Thats it basically, or at least thats how it worked for me

Don't you've an LTE contract alresadyy. Great offering. Feel tempted to pay for the account and ask someone to link the data card, wonder if that's possible

Yes I do but it is for 15GB only.
ps. I'm using the Integrated Sim and now have access to the 100GB from my DSL account.

Me too. It is also part of their double data period.
ps. It is until the end of this month.
I got sms the other day and a link to info about the sim. There it states it ends end of July 2016 ....

Integrated sim card was only a promotion (beta testing phase)

If only they can continue with this, but eish, Telkom knows how to turn a good thing into something elseOh well, if it ends, im then moving my line to Afrihost as its the one reason i kept my line with Telkom was due to the integrated sim. If it falls away, its adios to Telkom and i might as well save more money by moving my line

True, but when it comes to handing out data they can be quite cheap.

Feel tempted to ask my friend if I am able to use his account in order to qualify for integrated data package and pay him the soft cap and monthly fee for sim

in all honesty, i think Telkom would be silly to remove this feature. Like i said, if there is one thing they got right or spot on, it was this. For one, people could still access their DSL data if they had issues for x amount of time ie line being down. So im pretty sure it was a small relief for them in trying to handle so many queries on lines being down.
The integrated data SIM was their answer to my issue for been without DSL service for the past three weeks. My only problem is, I only have a line with Telkom, no data.

Well my understanding is that you need a data package with Telkom for it to work, which is not ideal but it is their product.. Which is why im saying, that if they remove it, then im moving my line or removing the data package.
Yep, that's how I understood it as well so was confused when they told me to get an integrated SIM to use in the mean time.
