would it be worth the effort for 1 month though if it does end in July? Then having to go through it all trying to cancel etc? Im annoyed if it does end, that i had to go and stand in a line and wait, then it didnt want to activate the 1st time etc. and now it might be done away with

LOL... I'm sitting with the deals page open for past hour now, contemplating.

I'm not sure when my DSL service will be restored as Telkom had to order parts to replace a faulty port. So taking the Telkom deal will be cheaper than buying mobile data every other week.

I have an ADSL router - Asus DSL-N17U - that also have a WAN port for fail-over. Have a B593 plugged in there, and automatically switches to WAN / LTE, or if the ADSL stinks, I do it manually.

Telkom were not my ISP, using VOX, but got the 10Gig Softcap for R99, with the promotion, its 20Gig.

PS: The double data promotion should have ended already, but they extended it. Hopefully they make it pemanent.

As for the Integrated Data Sim, its Telkom's offering for poor ADSL, thus cannot see that they will stop this.

They may stop the abuse by linking it to the nearest tower to your house, in other words, keep it from being used as a normal data mobile sim.
 
Sorry if this isn't the thread to post this... couldn't find a better alternative, but does anyone know what telkoms plan is with integrated data?

Usage tracker says the promo is ending at the end of this month.

I'm going to try and sign up for the unlimited data deal they offer and cancel my ADSL's account with them and stick to afrihost.

Seems like a good plan.

Just a follow up on this.

I went to Telkom, and I know have 5 Integrated data sims...don't know why they would issue this if they are going to end the offering.

You won't be able to use other service providers data on your integrated sim or Telkom's unlimited deals. As far as I know they only work on Telkom Mobile networks. :)

I'm of the opinion that the integrated sims will continue to work. Telkom might reconsider the ratio data is utilized. :)

Personally, I hope it stays the same, forever. :)

The uncapped users have much less to use than the softcap. As for you I think you have 100 gigs ?
 
No, I use it as is.

Even though the signal isn't at full strength it works beautifully. :)
