Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Interesting read above :o

On to issue(s) at hand that maybe an isolated one. Cannot authenticate to my Ti 2Mbps account after switching from another iSP. Nothing major as i know it will get sorted but just putting a mention in here :p.

/edit - R0.04 short on the bill :whistle: so thank heavens for VCPay ayy.

Yes, me. Was about to post it!

I did not have much scheduled. But I woke up early and decided to DL 2 episodes before 7am. On average it reached less than 20% of line speed between 5am and 7am. I'm still well within the green bar on the usage graph.

Works using another iSP account [WA 2GB free account] as i can't access my Ti account due to short payment of 4c :p. Let us know if it is working now. Also safe in the green.
 
saix stats working now. This is quite normal - site is often down for me.

Mine vrekked at 7am. On the dot. Want to watch CSI and Homeland tonight and they were almost finished, so I disabled the scheduler and resumed. Still not finished... at 2.2kB/s.
 
Had Telkom tracking a bad connection on my line this morning, not related to the torrent speed problem (I was experiencing random disconnects). Anyway, since the guy left and I fired everything up again, last nights uncompleted torrents have been bouncing off the limiter:

Speed is okay for me hey but yeah retention could be a problem. Using one cheap cheap usenet provider and 2 free international servers and saix with sickbeard solves ALL problems.

All the shows downloaded when you wake up if you have a decent line speed if you downloading hd and its all done in night surfer times.... :D
 
Got a call this afternoon from Telkom telling me that they've upgraded infrastructure in my area. Basically they've installed a mini exchange 2km from my place and linked it to their main exchange via fibre optic. Now I can get 10Mbps instead of the 4Mbps I've been stuck on for the last 4 months. The late arrival to the speed party was contributed to copper theft as they put it.

Speed: Can't complain about 420 Kbps on a 4 meg line. :)
2 Connections only, yes. No ssl.
Retention? Not sure, but I'm guessing it's only a few weeks. This is not an issue for me as I'm only ever pulling stuff that's hours old, ie: last night's shows.
