Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Agree, but I'm trying to get them used to the night surfer concept. Problem is that they game online and often go way beyond midnight. Then they come through and pause my DL's as it impacts on their lag, latency, etc.

The issue is that they then forget to restart my DLs!!! :mad:
Another with the same problems - solution use router to block their internet access between 00:00 and 06:00.

Then they don't develop sleep problems either.
 
Apparently a friend of mine was cut off completely on uncapped due to excessive usage. Does anyone know how long it takes before that gets lifted?

Doubt that. See ranger's message about acknowledging the FUP.

If he was totally cut off he would no longer be a TI customer.

Not cut off, but being informed that they will be throttled and will may billed for unnecessary call-out if they log a line fault for slow response.

They need to log in to click the 'Accept and Continue' button.

The wording could be more clear on the redirect page, there have been some drafts today, don't know how soon they will go in.

If they can't log in, PM me the username.

as i said there is no accept and continue button for me. Also after dealing with telkom via email all day I cant log in or reset my pass. I have tired different pcs....

Is anyone else having issues streaming from Twitch? I can barely watch stuff on Twitch without any buffering at the lowest settings.
 
Hello , so I need advise ? I'm on a 4mbps Telkom uncapped bundle and yesterday while viewing a video on YouTube my internet just went offline. My reaction was to reset my router and I was greeted by a message from Telkom about using too much data. I let it slide and the following day I called the helpline but it wasn't affective due to the poor quality of my line . I headed to the Telkom store , got attitude and was told I'm only allowed to use 50Gb a month and watch 5 minute videos , like wtf ? I can't Google , can't YouTube , can't pørn . all it does is takes me to that usage page which doesn't even show an amount ( first time using it ) is there a solution ? Do I move to another ISP ? Seriously 50Gb a month ? Witcher 3 will be more than 50Gb to download . I'd appreciate some assistance, can't complete my project due to no internet and mobile Internet , God dammit . thanks for taking the time to read this message .

Did you acknowledge the message or cancel?

Go back to that usage page and acknowledge the fair usage policy. After that you should be able to use that account.

1)It is a lot more than 50GB
2)Very few people (about 10) know what the real values are, certainly no customer-facing staff.
3) You are not cut off from the internet, log in (as requested) and acknowledge that restrictions are being applied to your account for the rest of the month, and you will be able to continue using the internet (yes, wording here is not clear enough, there have been proposals to make it more clear but it takes some time to get approval)
4) If you have trouble logging in, PM me your username and last 7 digits of account holders ID number, and I will do it for you.
5) The reason for the redirect page is to avoid unnecessary call-outs and unnecessary costs for users who don't log in to tracker and don't know about the fair usage restrictions. Previously restrictions were applie without the user knowing, and many users logged line faults resulting in technicians being dispatched etc.
6) Enhancements are in the pipeline to make this less intrusive, but getring approval for getting the necessary funding has taken months.
7) Please read more of the recent posts in relevant threads, all of these answers are in posts from the past week.

I think below the long paragraph it says 'Log in to the data usage portal', which is a link to https://secure.telkomsa.net/titracker . When you log in there, there should be a button that says 'Accept & Continue' after even longer text.

(The proposed changes to the redirect page try to make this much more obvious)
 
Okay so I clicked the data usage portal , login but there's no accept. All I see is side panel such is titled my tools and a meter(which is blank) . maybe the site is corrupt ? I'm trying to upload pictures but its not working

Not bad doing 331 GB for the month and still being in the green on a 4 mb line
