Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

I completely gave up on Telkom ADSL... I was on their 2mb uncapped package for 7 months, 2 of those I couldn't use it because of a congested exchange, and for last 2 months had speeds of a 384k line. Cancelled my account, went to Openweb, now the line flies.

Well if it was exchange congestion, going to Open Web, would not change anything, the fact that your move to another ISP improved your experience, indicates that Telkom Internet was the cause of your problem.
 
Yippeeeeeee, internet is working, now I can start working. Bugger not having e-mail, no internet banking, no SARS efiling ... , etc.

Sorry, I meant around month 3 and 4 was exchange congestion, tested other ISP trial accounts and they also had high pings and low speed. Then it was fine for a month, then Month 6 and 7 was when the I gave up and cancelled the Telkom Account, because other ISPs worked fine this time, so I knew it wasn't congestion.
 
Put my iPhone on to update to IOS 7.1 this morning, when I left, it said 6 hours to completion ...

Hopefully it is finished by the time I get home this afternoon.
 
Yet again, the internet is better than ever in the afternoon. Probably back to 0.1mbps with huge delay and intermittent disconnects after 6 again though... Hope for the best though :)
 
I'm starting to feel like Cinderella, every day when the clock strikes 4pm, my fairytale ends when I get downgraded from 4MB to a 2MB line(yes I know many people are worse off, but I'm paying for 4mb right?), and on Friday 4PM till Monday 12AM it's the same story. Phoned telkom on 10210 yesterday afternoon and the woman did a 'port refresh' and what do you know, no change at all, just said I should monitor the line for the next 30 minutes, and then phone again. So they can put me on hold for another 20 minutes just to have me turn the modem off and on again to no result. Think I've about had it with them... So can anyone recommend an ISP that can actually deliver some super fast internets? (and none of that star rating BS, I pay for uncapped and even tho I only use max 150GB per month, I don't want to be treated like bandwidth-hog scum when I go a bit overboard in a 7day roling window:D)
 
Yep back to dial-up. Every single day at the same time. I genuinely wouldn't care if torrents were entirely disabled on the Telkom network somehow. Then people wouldn't be downloading their "linux distros" and raping the exchange sideways. :(
 
There was a time when service went from terrible to passable. It has slipped into unacceptable again.
