Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

So guys haven't been keeping up with this thread in a while, haven't had issues since they upgraded my line in December to 2mb.

Today I see the usage counter in the red as "Power user". I've only used about 165 gb. Weren't the thresholds for 2mb higher then this last year, or is this now completely forgotten?

Also when they start throttling don't they half your line speed? I only get 39kb/s on everything on a line capable of 180 kb/s odd.

Seems like internet is just becoming worse every year.

Gonna make it my mission to download the internetz today even with 40kb/s.

thx

Where do you login for that info?

Ta!
Titracker says:
Thank you for logging onto the Telkom Internet Usage Tracker Tool. You are on an Uncapped product and therefore usage tracking is not applicable to you.
It does show a bar though - stops at around 30%.

The other link... userstats... is perfect! Thanks a ton!
So I'm doing 93Gb so far and likely 110 by the end of the month. I think I'll look at the 60+60Gb business capped from Webafrica or the 75+75 capped from Afrihost for around R299.
Anyone know the diffs between Webafrica business vs home capped? I can't stand the fact that companies make distinctions with capped products.

My TI uncapped 4mb has been running smoothly in recent times. I guess its end of the month keep you happy before shaping you to death the following month.

Done 220Gb and the usage bar in Usage tracker tool is a golden brown colour. Streaming this week has been perfect for me and midnight downloads have been good as well.

Streaming is often almost useless on my 4mb line and I've only done 90Gb.

T1 No discount.

Telkom decides that I don't get my discount this month.
My account has increased to the new rates, no problem there, but I am now paying more for a sub-standard service.

I know , a phone call is all that is required to get this fixed, until the next time.

I am afraid Telkom is on that slippery slope, going backward at a rate of knots that is hard to believe.
For months now we have been paying for a substandard service, with no relieve in sight.
Do I have to move my ISP again, I have lost count of how many service providers I have had in twenty years.
Do we have keep changing to the ISP, that is the flavour of the month continuously, for a better service, that is going to eventually die on us again, and again.

Keno:twisted:

Im also on 4mb and done 219GB . Usage tracker is green in the middle under tracking.
havent had any problems Kids play Xbox online no problems.

Its the last week of the month Telkom is trying to keep us happy until the beginning of next month :D

Sounds fair, on the bright side the brakes come off on the 1st of the month, none of the x days rolling window hassles some ISP's impose.

And how do you know Telkom does not apply this rule? You work for them? I have had many a start of the month where my speeds on NZBs and Torrents were definitely being throttled or the service was just slow.

I have done 100gig on a 2meg line and being throttled to death. This is the first time I have done this amount and its really annoying!!

International is down the drain right now. It seems that after hours there are still problems.
