Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

ROFL, if that happens im moving to the far West Coast and living in isolation, it's very frustrating trying to play a competitive game with 90% packet loss

FIbre will have it's issues no doubt, but surely it wont be as pathetic as this

Lol , image the pocket loss continues when he gets fibre

My Telkom Uncapped ADDL has been down since 24:00 last night. Not just me, same at work, also ADSL, down. Telkom fiber also seems down. And same with Afrihost Fixed LTE, - Cell-C - also down. So something big has eFF'ed the internet.

I requested a 10mbps ADSL upgrade but my line stats on my router show a Downstream of 8128kbps. Does that mean I'm on 8mbps?

Yep, I got it too about an hour ago

This should mean that they have finished porting the remaining functionality (mostly for some business-focused products) to the new portal (or the products were phased out).

However, they didn't announce the end of the Service Management Tool, so they haven't finished the activation parts of the new platform in the past 2 years :-( (and indeed, none of the functionality from SMT is available anywhere else yet).

Anybody else getting really bad speeds in Cape Town southern suburbs? Started around midnight, I'm getting 0.4Mbps on a 20mb line. A friend and cousin having the same problem as well.

Yep. It's also been posted on the WebAfrica thread. Seems to be happening regardless of ISP

Yes, I'm having the same problem. Getting less then 1meg also on my 40meg line, buffering started last night already and this morning. Logged a call with Telkom.

OpenServe Clients in Cape Town

We have been informed that OpenServe DSL and Fibre clients in Cape Town will be experiencing slow speeds due to an infrastructure failure. Technicians are on site to repair the break. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Looks like a bad start to the weekend. Getting 0.20mbps on a 4 mbps line.
