Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Ranger is on 4MB, he's said that a few pages ago.

We only going round and round in circles here much like your thread on disclosing your affiliation with an ISP.
This seems like it's headed in that direction. Once again you want your ISP to bend to your rules, if you going to lobby you might find yourself lobbying alone.

Either lobby or leave like everyone else? Do you read the comments from people who picked up and left?

Let's look at the facts in hour case - you assume your throttled when your bar is in the green. No one else has had that happen to them. Makes me inclined to think the problem is specific to your line and not Telkom Internet.

I confirmed this with several people. The call centre said I was not capped and Facebook support said I was. The escalation centre confirmed I was capped even though I didn't get the landing page. The so-called cap was in place because of data total, despite downloading overnight. The bar was green and I sent them that image as well.

The invitation is still open to assist you in trying to isolate your issue. Ranger has extended his hand but you wont take it.

How about you try post some line stats/traceroutes and continuous ping tests to the 2nd hop on your traceroute. Why have you not provided this already? I'm beginning to think you like complaining and don't actually want your problem fixed...

I have only just found out that it is the shaper, and not anything else. Seems Telkom just picks a reason out of the hat. They now have a "slow browsing" division that they pass things to because they haven't informed customers of the new policy. That also explains the news releases to the forum and websites.

As above

It's a state sponsored company so we have an interest in seeing that it runs efficiently and isn't corrupt or dysfunctional. From the feedback it appears as though they know things are a problem (like the call centre) but are just working around it. Even support says the cell centre is a "headache" for everyone.

You have no idea... it is a private company, finished and klaar.

I registered an external e-mail in 2010. I've just checked now and it is still active, yet no notices to it. Perhaps this is another fault.

Go here http://webmail.telkomsa.net/ enter your adsl username & password.

All TI notifications & info gets sent to that address, you don't have to use it as a mail account but that is where the info gets sent to.

I logged in and tried to track a fault (https://secureapp.telkom.co.za/assurance/public/queryafault) and got this:

500 Internal Server Error
OracleJSP:

JSP Error:

Request URI:/assurance/WEB-INF/jsp/queryafault.jsp

Exception:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Repository /app/oracle/product/oc4j1012_ext/j2ee/OC4J_Assurance/application-deployments/assurance/assurance/persistence/_pages does not exist!

You are a Telkom shill... that screenshot is a lie :p

**EDIT**
Though it does seem like that page (via the AG's direct link) is borked..
I clicked on the link in his post...

I did to, and I get the 500 error as well..

I would assume some of the webservers in the farm are a bit dodgy...
