Nice Guys.

The speed here is terrible even Gmail complains....

Gaming ping was 130ms and over. Switched to a Webafrica account and it dropped to 30ms.
Same with torrents, full speed on WA, then 5kb/s on Telkom.

What's the point? Is this TI team trying to ditch all their customers off uncapped??

It's obviously not working for you so why don't you switch to a better ISP, why keep banging your head against a wall?

Simple. It was working very well from the start.

It then started acting up and Telkom said it was a line fault.

I'm hoping they will have a change of heart so I don't have to change ISP, which is a hassle.

(*you dont have to answer all my posts with a snarky comment - suggestion*)

Are you in the Cape or KZN?

Anyone else in Rivonia having issues today?
The exchange went dead supposedly due to an upgrade. It's back up now but I can only connect @ 8mb/s.
The line quality is terrible as well, as there is lots of noise on the line.

...

We are aware of some issues, the on-boarding of some cdn traffic has resulted in uneven load-balancing of traffic over the IPC links in Cape Town site to the point where some were congesting.

Been going full speed since about 11pm last night, and still going strong. Done almost 16gb so far.

Does this mean we are gonna get throttled earlier then if not fixed?
One support guy claims your line is now getting progressively slowed if you use too much as well. That would explain the current performance, but there is so much nonsense coming out of this company, who knows. Despite downloading overnight, they quote you how much you used (other ISPs as well) as if you broke the law!

Something i have been wondering, does weekend data get counted any differently to weekdays?

@ranger when if ever can we expect to see the actual usage for softcap users? The progress bar with a percentage is very hard to judge sometimes and need a calculator to work out usage.

That simply does not work. No way to know what is night surfer data or peak data nor any way to know exactly how much data you have left.

I have a 50GB softcap account. Now I've done 49GB in nightsurfer time. I would need a calculator to calculate my usage using the percentage displayed or subtracting the total usage on the saix counter from the night surfer data and social data to get the remaining data....

Thought I was the only one who needed a calculator, every one I know can work out the percentage to gigs in their head, even with the saix link you need to subtract night surfer and Social Networking

/gets out of the uncapped thread

And tomorrow you complain because you are throttled.

When have I ever complained about being throttled ? I've never once gotten to the point of being throttled, ever. If I complain tomorrow, it's because the speeds revert to 15kbps between 5pm and 10pm making the net almost useless during that time.
