They have no idea what that is ... , nor why it might be usefull.

Does telkom allow you to "pause" your account ? Going away for 3 months , dont really feel like cancelling , then setting it up again.

They will likely advise you that it's no problem, just unplug your modem when you go away, then your "sevvas is paused right"?
I suggest don't try and have the pause discussion with them, you might just end-up with a cancelled account, hook, line and sinker.

Not as far as I know - I have some clients who are with telkom and they come here from europe for the summer, then go back to europe in may for their summer. (Nice to be wealthy, we call these people swallows here in Sedgefield).
They say they gave up trying with telkom to get their account suspended while they're not here. No go. Now they just pay for the whole year, and just use their telkom line for six months of it.
I got that far when my usage was only 89gb and at least 80% was during open time!
If the status bar changes to orange that means throttled right?
That's how I understand it.So orange is a warning?![]()

Look, notwithstanding all the complaints above, fair's fair ... I just want to celebrate the fact that my 4Mbps Telkom account is finally acting the way I'd hoped, just for the past week straight. Maybe Telkom's finally gotten those national infrastructure upgrades' teething issues sorted? Regardless, I've been able to catch up with a stack of streaming videos this past week with zero buffering, which has been completely unheard-of up to now for me (for a bunch of reasons).
Let's not only always complain, right? May the Internet sun shine for y'all too!*knocks on wood that this doesn't jinx it*
Glad for you, I have DC'ed 3x the last hour, playing GW2 - "Client could not connect to authentication server" - there after I have been playong with 3 second skill lag. 20:00 - 22:00 is Guild Missions, hopefully I will be able yo carry out my responsibilities as Guild officer. And not be absent due to lack of reliable connectivity.
Before i started my Telkom Uncapped contract i asked:
me: "Is this fully uncapped, without shaping/sealing"
Telkom Staff Member: "Yes, the plan is fully uncapped (Or something like that)"
Me: "So i can download like a TB of files a month if id like, and still not get shaped
Telkom Staff Member: "Yes, you can".
Me: "Are you sure?, because that's what i am planning to do, as i also stream and play online games on my ps3/ps4".
Telkom Staff Member: "You can, stream/play games without any shaping, the deal is fully uncapped"
So yeah i carried on asking them like 4-6 times if i get shaped or not and if there is uncapped seiling,
Guess what, after a month or so (after i got the contract) , i downloaded a lot and got shaped at arround 150 gb, wow, this is sad. and pathetic, how telkom does business, we need new ISP's such as Orange or something else. as i was lied to aswell.... (several times)
Could even be a 4Mbps line/account where all DL's are done during the day...Probably a 2 meg line that still has a 1 meg profile ... (?)
