Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Strange, all fine here :confused:

... I was anticipating there might be hassles with the new priority feature conflicting with traffic shaping on my IPCops but so far OK.

Not sure whats going on with my TI account, my backup Afrihost account gives the same issue but backup openweb is fine:

Quick question, is it normal that to order an account I need to put all sorts of details like my employer information? I'm not quite sure I like that...

It looks like there may be a problem with capacity from the IPNet router (105.226.0.5, the other side of the link to hop 3) to the rest of IPNet. If your Afrihost connection uses an IPC link through the same IPNet router, that would explain it. We have requested an explanation from Telkom Wholesale.

Our other router in the region (connected to a different IPNet router) wasn't experiencing any problems.

@ranger
Is there a way I can see when my line is migrated back from my isp to telkom ? Or is it a waiting game for twee weeks ?

Anyone knows why when Im downloading nntp its very eratic up and down 1mb to 0 kb. Speed test, mtr, tracert latency all fine

I called telkom to activate a 10 meg uncapped account. They activated a 10 meg line speed but with a 4 meg uncapped data package.
Another professional act by the skilled employees of telkom

How should I go about resolving the issue? Should I log a fault with telkom or TI?

TI

Telkom provides the adsl line, TI provides your internet access & they must sort this out wit SAIX upstream.
