Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

So last night I start streaming rugby world cup via ITV using Hola extender for Chrome. It all works great when 30 mins later my internet is speed is, well, everything shows green but I cannot even google. I reboot router etc, but to no avail.

Is this Telkom throttling me? I have 4meg line, uncapped. How long before Telkom will start to throttle? I really hope it was a Telkom ADSL glitch, will see tonight but with me using Hola....maybe Telkom not likey?

You realise that Hola pimps out your bandwidth?

Ja, uncapped helps with this. I usually disconnect wifi after I streamed though so not too concerned. If only I can get my friggen @telkomsa username then I can log in to check my usage...

How do you not know your account details? :wtf:

They should be on your bill somewhere. Alternatively login to your router and find your username there (depending on the make/model of your router they'll be somewhere in "internet setup".

It is not on my bill (first place I looked), and yes I need to login to my router...but -yawn- the effort. Thanks for caring though.

Telkom DNS seems to have gone down in Pmb, cannot Steam until I changed to google DNS.

Dunno if it's still the case but I had some issues opening international sites earlier on & youtube streaming was up to schite, could not even stream 360p videos.

Torrents seem to have been throttled down to around 3mbps during nightsurfer and TItracker is down atm making it difficult to know what's happening.

There were some maintenance activities by third parties (content partners) and one transmission failure (no impact) overnight, but those shouldn't have affected p2p (all stats looked normal).

and TItracker is down atm making it difficult to know what's happening.

Works for me at the moment. There was some planned maintenance this morning and there was an issue with access from the Web fronted to some backend systems following that, but that was resolved by about 08h20.

Cleared cache etc but the tracker is still down for me with the same error ...

Just tested torrents and can maintain 5mbps now so that problem has been resolved :)

... TItracker is working for softcap accounts but not uncapped

Hi guys, am looking for an account for someone who wants to move from AH to another ISP, i wanted to know at how many gigs does the FUP kick in on 20Mbps and 40Mbps uncapped? And can one track usae for an uncapped account? Currently they are doing about 350-400Gb on a 40Meg line with a capped account. Thanks

I'm not sure but I doubt they would have any issues doing 400GB at those speeds. Reason I say this is that I do ~200GB on a 2Mb/s line & I know the 4Mb/s can do 350GB.

Yes you can track your usage,

They will get more than double that...

Anyone else still getting terrible ping? I've been forced to use my Afrihost account any time I wanted to play games since my post over 20 days ago.

Crawling -_-

At the moment it seems as time goes by the need for bandwidth at my house has been steadily increasing. So much so that I estimate that I’ve easily been doing 10gig a day as of late. (Heavy streaming: Netflix, Youtube, Kids watching things, Gaming, etc.)

I’m on Telkom 10MB uncapped… (max speed our exchange can handle) If it goes on like this I’ll probably be capped at some point?
