Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

If by support you mean me, I think I provided the logs to the developer, and to me it looked like this was specific to users with the Mobile data (but I couldn't reproduce on my own account which is similar).
No ways did I mean you ranger, you've always assisted where possible :)

The remark was directed at the official support channel, I logged a query [Support #861210] on the 10th of Nov and only received the terse reply I quoted on the 20th - nothing since.

Checked this morning and I'm still getting the error. I'm pretty sure it's related to the 5+5GB mobile data that was linked to my uncapped account, works great but I've no way of assessing how much I've used.
 
My Internet experience went from Very stable for more than a year to a very very bad in the last couple of weeks. Nothing telkom does seems to work :-(

My latency goes from <20ms to >3000ms out of the blue. Port resets sometimes work but not for long. My port has been recreated, had a techie at my place, line test comes out fine. Swap between ISPs. nothing works :-(

I have a sneaky suspicion the variable sync is causing all this issues. My line was put back to normal sync and it worked fine for more than a day now back to s##t.

ANy tips for me to try and resolve this?

This is a Telkom Wholesale / Openserve issue, nothing out team can do about it (I have access to see the current line stats and can do a port re-set, but I can't see the profile or change it).

You can try TelkomZA, who is aware of recent issues and may be able to assist.

Otherwise you need to log a dsl line fault or call 10210.
 
No internet at all. According to app no outage in my area!

There is a tracker deployment logged for tomorrow, not 100% sure if this is one of the bug fixes (there are features and bug fixes going in, I've been most involved with the new features).

Thanks for the new tracker features:love: I have noticed from the end of the month BAR moves up gradually .


Ok I was throttled but only for a couple of hours .

You shouldn't. Its standard to get +/- 500Kilobit less speed than the rated maximum line speed due to various factors. So that's actually pretty good or at least no worse than average for a 2Megabit line.

My 4MB account ranges between 2.6 and 3.6, average is probably 3.4. And the upload is identical to yours.

Yea I thought so, then I posted my speed to showmax due to a technical error I keep getting using their service they told me I need a 2Mb line minimum. lol
 
would love to test my 2mb at new house, I'm a stone throw from corner box, but waiting for new pole in complex, don't think i'm going to have a gaming festive season by the looks of things

playing offline is not the problem, the problem is I need my mutliplayer fix, and missing out on a new CS case with a new revolver also #facepalm

I feel ya, I'm loving Rocket League at the moment and would hate to lose it. Other than that though I'm all about the Single Player experiences (or splitscreen).
 
looking to pick it up over winter sale perhaps, looks like an epic game, also hoping a local league for it will pop up in the new year, especially seeing that Trackmania died out mid season :(

No Africa servers though so 170-230 ping to EU and ME, and 260-340 to US-East. All else unplayable 400+. EU and ME perfectly playable most of the time, US-E a bit less but I still manage to be the hero of the hour every once in a while. EU is best despite ME being geographically closer.

Hence also my name S3RV3RL3SSinZA. Been playing since the first week (logged almost 350 hours) and it's incredibly fun unless the other team is full of 2MS flyers that out-ping you in the air or your team through idiocy plays contrary to you.


I don't think there's much danger of having my line cut, I think ranger and the other Telkom teckies might appreciate to have a generally happy customer in here for once (and that isn't abusing torrents 24/7)

LOL true that, I'm happy, been happy with Telkom and Ti as ISP, just gets frustrating sometimes, but when there is an issue it get sorted pretty quickly.

that said, I'll be over the moon if i can plug in and go jam a few MMs in CSGO

Something somewhere is not lekker. Intermittent issues with loading sites. Then it loads, then it hangs and times out. Anyone else experiencing this?

My VPN to UK servers are refusing to connect too.

Im in CT

Try changing to google dns servers and see if that helps.

The Google Public DNS IP addresses (IPv4) are as follows:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Let us know how it goes.
