WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUU IS THIS TELKOM????

I have been getting the same, TS as well as CS GO ping was terrible last night 1000ms ping+ (but a regular ping test would be fine and browsing, youtube etc was fine). Tonight TS was okay but CS GO ping was bad and had to switch to a backup account.

pretty sure there is a deeck measuring contest between mweb and telkom, cause as far as i've seen everything that is either hosted by mweb or has mweb connection in some way shape or form has issues

the ping spikes playing online is bloody retarted and I still wonder how the hell does the company that is the main title sponsor for the local gaming boys cant fix it, as it makes gaming almost impossible

well it's either that or someone messed up routing :wtf:

Can't watch youtube videos, and the internet seems ultra slow tonight. Not even seeing 1Mbps. Time to report a fault I guess.

Teamspeak tonight, RIP Ranger not being here anymore to help with these sorts of issues.
Will have to contact TI support

This can happen if the inter-site links between Gauteng and Durban are down. Those links were quite unreliable (lots of fibre breaks on the only available route).

But there are multiple fibre routes out of durban to jhb?

Anyone else getting poor download and streaming speeds ?
(4MB Home Uncapped)
It has been blazing past for the past week but now all of a sudden quite slow.
FUP hasn't been reached.

A friend the other side of PE phoned me this morning complaining of the same, I wasn't experiencing any problems on 10MB so I got him to power cycle his router. Seems to have done the trick as he hasn't phoned back.

How does one power cycle ? :(
Noob here.

According to people we spoke to, the two routes available to us have one shared segment which happens to be quite problematic, so they weren't prepared to offer an SLA at the time.

There was a similar problem with routes from our Gauteng DC to e.g. Teraco JB1, so in the past it was quite common to lose half the capacity to peering partners at JB1 (and our traffic volume means order lead-times for capacity were getting to be quite long).
