Anyone in PE struggling with international speed? Getting about 2mbps on my 10mbps uncapped line and impossible to stream any video. Local seems fine.

No, YouTube streaming flawlessly. :)

If I'm not mistaken YouTube have severs in SA so not using international bandwidth. My YouTube, Netflix, showmax and DSTV now also streams fine as they all use local bandwidth

If you can test speedofme please. There is a speedtest on the site

I'm getting dodgy results on speedofme (frankfurt) at the moment, my upload is x3 my line speed. If i use ookla speedtest also to frankfurt my results are accurate. If I download a linux iso from a frankfurt mirror my speeds are also normal.

My borther has issues with DSTV Now buffering on his 4mb uncapped account. I have the same Telkom internet and I have no buffering issues. Strange thing is that its only the DSTV Now that buffers by him. Any pointers?

How do I track my internet usage. On telkom tracker site it simply tells me I am uncapped. At least it shows I a normal and not power user. Assume it means using little internet of the fup of 950gb.

Edit
Found a Telkom website customerportal that shows usage. Looks like one has 3GB of nightsurfer as well?
https://customerportal.telkomsa.net/portal/connectivity/usage

I have 10mbps telkom unlimited home fibre with 2 gbs sim. But am told its IDS sim card so uses fibre cap.

Not sure where 3gb nightsurfer even fits in.

Data used during nightsurfer time (00:00-07:00) does not count towards your fup calculations. you've basically used 3GB so far during nightsurfer time.

Here's another site you might have a use for https://userstats.adsl.saix.net/

It's amazing how their left hand doesn't know what the right is doing...

I just tracked my usage over the last few months with that usage graph: I need to enable my scheduler in uTorrent

Fair enough, I guess...

Thanks

No it states I have used 0.59 of my 3Gb night surfer

Shows my simcard active but nothing else. To be fair havent tested it by downloading or streaming internet yet.

Found a Telkom website customerportal

You "found" it?

The URL where the tracker login page used to be now (has been like this for close on a year) has two icons, and above the first it says:

"Customer Portal

The Telkom Internet Customer Portal is our new solution to allow you to manage your Telkom Internet services, and will eventually completely replace the Usage Tracking Tool.

[URL=https://customerportal.telkomsa.net/portal]Go to the customer portal
'

All "external" links to tracker (e.g. from www.telkom.co.za) should go to this page too.
www.telkomsa.net and secure.telkomsa.net have had customerportal as the first link since the same time.

The topup landing page also points you to customerportal (with hints on where to find the topup functionality).

I am really surprised at how many users of tracker haven't found customerportal yet.

Did you bookmark the page you get to when you are logged off of tracker, or is there some other deep link everyone uses?

(There were - and may still be - reasons not to forcefully migrate users away from tracker, as there were features there for business customers that weren't available on customerportal yet)

Can someone with an active IDS please confirm if your balance includes remaining bandwidth. When I log into telkom.co.za this is what I see, no indication of how much of my 2gb bundle I have left. Is WLAN the same thing?
