Telkom Internet Softcap Feedback

I have been on Telekom softcap 20Gb for about 20 days now. So far I was very impressed.
Until I downloaded my PS+ games. I specifically activated do gaming for this. Yet after I downloaded 10Gb of games from psn, not a byte of it was attributed to do gaming. The whole lot went onto my softcap.

Anyone else have this type of delightful experience?

Yes I think Telkom has a problem with this.

PLZ @RANGER. PSN has been hit with many DDOS attacks I think they have changed servers and Telkom needs to update their records to make it count towards the do gaming addon. It is NOT working anymore.
 
@ranger mentioned that p2p is shaped to the same extent on both softcap and uncapped accounts which was a shock to me but okay I don't use p2p much. So what else would be shaped more on uncapped? I use about 100GB on a heavy month maybe less but seldom more than that. Would I see a significant increase in shaping when I switch to 10Mbps uncapped from 50GB softcap?

I mentioned that this was the case *at present*, but that it should hopefully change soon (maybe 2 months).

I did see news of the DDoS attacks, but I don't think this should have had an effect, but we will test again.
 
@ranger / @cavedog - gonna be watching this closely as i want that add-on :). Hope a resolution is found in good time.
 
@ranger I've been trying to get a straight answer out of Telkom since last year October regarding the Do Elite Plus bundle.

Initially I was told the price on the website was wrong, but 3 months down the line and the price is still exactly the same.

All I want is that product and Telkom has been unable to help me. I'm currently using a WebAfrica account but I don't want to move my line to them if I don't have to but my patience is running out and I will have to move it over if I can't get a straight answer from Telkom (as I can save a lot of money).

A DDoS attack on one of our users took up all the time I had for operational issues yesterday ...

It hates when i Do P2P before midnight.
I will use it only for gaming.

Even after midnight P2P was dead for me. From about 1am it started working and continued until 7am before being blocked again. Even during those hours, it averaged less than half my line speed.

No reply but things have improved tenfold.

Still some slow and non loading of websites, but the rest is working well.

Now I can be relatively confident in my TI 50GB backup account.

I can't confirm any more since I'm on Telkom 10Mbps uncapped account now. :(

Great. But we haven't done anything to fix it ...

Ditched the Softcap and moved to Vox. Haven't looked back. No "best effort", "high contention", "heavy protocol shaping" crap.

Everything just works like it's supposed to.
