Telkom Internet Softcap Feedback

Just an observation, but for the past few days my (well-seeded) torrent downloads have peaked and stayed at a suspicious 99mbps. Previously I got close to line speed during Night Surfer time. I am in Pretoria with a 50GB TI account. Shaping? A function of a particular torrent? Who knows? Will keep monitoring.

Are you using utorrent and have you recently upgraded it?

What are you complaining about? 99mbps is insanely fast. Just keep quiet and hope nobody notices you may have the fastest account in the country.
 
Does the night surfer 00h00 to 07h00 only apply to weekdays or does it include weekends as well?
 
Do Gaming bundle coming in handy for Yesterday and Today. Downloading COD Chosts and Destiny on my ps4 and I saw the data usage is insane.... Downloading now so its downloading @ a stable 1.4MB/s and its usage included in the R49 bundle I bought.

Sorry if I'm making the uncapped users getting shaped more :p

So I'm currently on Do Elite which is R601 for 50GB softcap and 20Mbps adsl line. Now the next do bundle is the Do Elite Plus but that has a 40Mbps VDSL line which I can get but it has the 100Gb which I do want.

So anyone know if the 20Mbps line and 50GB do bundle is R601 what would the price be if I get the 100GB softcap and 20Mbps line?

Its not on the website and there would be no way to see what the discount is that they would apply to my account because its not a listed do bundle... If its worth while I might consider cancelling my Vox fatpipe + Uncapped bolt on.

Yes indeed. Its called Do Elite. That's not all. Telkom did not even drop their 20Mbps and 40Mbps prices yet so I expect a further drop in price in a month or two.

So the R601 is for the ADSL line rental and the softcap data. It excludes the voice/analogue part which is R166.50 or R187 or R206 or R350 depending which calling plan you select.

That's exactly what I want, 100GB 20Mbps bundle at a price between Do Elite and Do Elite Plus, but doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Did you query for a price? I think Im going to switch my 50gb account over anyways and see what discount I get on my invoice.

On the Telkom site you can build your own bundle and it said R1065.

Ohh I am not able to do that because the checker says my area is max 10Mbps but I'm on the 20Mbps profile..... Anyways that is shocking though. I hope you do not lose the discount once you change the size of the softcap but I think you might because you will be paying for it separately then.... Sigh

I'm going to phone in the morning to see what they say. I'm hoping for a price of about R700 to R750
