Getting really bad speed on all websites today (2/6/2013) since this morning, YT doesnt even get 20KB downloaded, reset router with no effect... KZN region, any1 else?
 
Also in KZN and it's almost unusable, not even downloading stuff. Slower than dial-up.
 
Is there anything wrong today? I cannot even browse, things are slower than dial-up (I'm serious). I'm not downloading anything but I can barely browse this site or any others locally or internationally.

Looks like a KZN problem, I've fired up a couple of UK & Aus torrents to test and they can max out my line. Browsing etc all normal here in PE.
 
My capped account unusable an hour ago seems to have cleared up for me,downloads at half speed
 
Am I missing something:

Download Speed: 1757 kbps (219.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 404 kbps (50.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 233 ms

This is international
 
Looks like a KZN problem, I've fired up a couple of UK & Aus torrents to test and they can max out my line. Browsing etc all normal here in PE.

The weird thing is torrents actually work fine I can get 90-100kB/s on a 1Mb/s line. It's the other stuff that seems dead.
 
Yup its strange indeed, good ping in games, steam downloads are 100%, speed test 100% but google, YT, FB and browsing in general is taking ages.... Maybe it's a DNS issue

edit: switched to Google DNS, seemingly no effect

OK, my connection dropped for a minute at 16:00 and came back with the same IP. Now my browsing is on the slow side but not unusable, torrents seem fine.
 
My browsing is completely unusable. To load this page I had to refresh 6 times, and wait all those 6 times because it would only load half the page.

If you wait about 3 minutes it will eventually load, sigh...
 
Same here. Browser is dead slow. Have to refresh over and over. Something fell oversomewhere :( Ranger!!! Help :P
 
Phoned Telkom support and they are useless. They insist that there is no problem in the KZN area and will dispatch someone to look at my line no matter how much i explain to them I'm not the only person with the problem and the problem does not lie on the customer premise site. They won't let me speak to someone from tier2 support or a duty manager etc.

God these people have their heads in the sand.
 
I was trying to load a PDF off Vula but it was going <10KB/s, I switched to my backup cybersmart account and it goes at line speed (100KB/s)
 
Oh good, I thought it was just me who wasn't able to load anything.
It took me a few hours to get to this forum :-/

EDIT: Although speedtests were fine and about the single only thing that didn't timeout.
