Maybe its their new shaping?
I've now tried tweeting them with support number.
So far:
Calling either tech or ISP gets you nowhere
Logging a support ticket gets you nowhere.
Hellopeter gets you nowhere.
.... now trying twitter...then facebook.
Not prepared to pay almost R1000 a month for 100KB/s - if I'm lucky - and impossible browsing/streaming.
EDIT - And to add insult to injury, they've double billed me again.
I got a phone call from some tart at Telkom telling me they've made a change to my line What did she do ? I hope you're sitting down ... She dropped me from a 2MB to 1MB !
I worry about some of the people that work at Telkom.

It seems that despite the efforts of TI's technical team to inform 10210 of current problems the help desk staff exist in a parallel alternate universe![]()
Maybe if they employed full time staff in their Call Centres instead of using temporary/contract workers, they'd see an improvement...I swear they have robots at the call centre who only know one line of questioning. No matter what you say they always do exactly the same thing, and if that doesn't work then they 'transfer you', which 8 times out of 10 results in no one answering, and the other 2 you get another robot who wants to do the same thing as the first person.
I have an Afrihost account - but will try it again when I get home.
what i don't get, if I restart my router, it jumps to 500KB/s... sits there for a few seconds... then each time I check it gets slower and slower until it crawls, but erratically - so it'll go 500KB/s -> 400KBs -> 450KB/s -> 300KB/s... and so on.
Then...sometime early morning till around 7am --> 1000KB/s...
When I do speedtest.net... I get the same, one speedtest result won't complete its so slow, retry it and it gets 10Mb/s.... try again.. 4Mb/s...
on a 4MB account.
I could give you my telkom details for a test?
