Hope everyone is maxing their internet pipe (be it for streaming or otherwise) :D. The FB team are just amazing. After receiving email from me as they need written request from the account holder, upgrade of account was done so quick.

0553am - Sent email.
0817am - Request received, processing and will provide feedback.
0857am - Still busy with request.
1017am - BAM - 10Meg :D

Maybe not the quickest upgrade but still good in my books without lifting a handset :).

Thanks to those responsible for getting the Social team to listen. I only hope others will have a similar experience if not better. TY again to DrJohnZoidburg for mentioning them :p aswell.

Another guinea pig to see usage pattern and when throttling kicks in. So far 325GB total (saix stats) when on 4Meg so lets see how far we can go.

I have to agree. That FB Team is great.
I also have sung their praises for excellent service.

Happy to report that since yesterday I am able to stream from Netflix and Hulu. Thanks TI peeps for sorting it out.

Does the social team include twitter?

I would say, especially them.
Office hours only, though.
Or it used to be like that, not sure if it changed. It seems like they are adding new personnel every day. Not sure if that is good or bad.
I would assume bad in the long run.

Are you in the CT area? Am interested to hear if those guys came right and if they finished implementing their changes as per ranger's post.

:)

Speedtests in general seem okay, but latency is bad.
About 20ms more on local(myBB and Speedtest.net) and about 50 - 80ms more than I'm used to.

Pingtest still defaults to Umhlanga and does not complete the test.

Most international sites open okay. Some pages take long to to load. Speedtest.net is one of the pages that is slow to load.

My 4Meg line is shocking this evening with local pings in the 100s and with serious packect loss. Thought i was the only one. I am in Joburg and about 700m from my exchange.

Had TI uncapped 2mbps for about a month now. When it's good, it's good, but I've found performance very unreliable.

Whenever I run a speedtest the speed jumps quickly to approx 1.2, drops to near 0, and then builds slowly to approx 1.5. This profile occurs every time and is destroying my streaming experiences. Anyone experience similar and/or know how to remedy it? When I use other ISP accounts speedtest profile builds up slowly and is solid. In general line stats and traceroutes are good.

I am thinking of upgrading my 1 meg line to 2 meg as it is School hols soon and Xbox will be used .
Not throttled yet but on orange, was wondering what is the best time to do it Or do I have to wait till the Begining of the Month .
How much more will I have to pay ?
