I can connect.
YouTube buffers on 360p
Speedtests indicate high latencies local and international.
Dl speeds indicate high, but upload speeds are generally low, especially for international. (0.14Mbps on 4Mbps line)
Browsing are still slow, but usable.
I'm in the Eastern Cape.

This has been going on for weeks now.

I have posted multiple times in this thread.

I have provided traceroutes (although only recently, to be fair).

I have emailed support (twice), as asked to do (mail does not appear to go through, as I get no auto-response).

I have phoned and had multiple, extremely annoying conversations with call centre agents, who continue to tell my I have an ADSL issue that is causing the latency, even though I have tried to explain that with an alternative ISP, everything works absolutely perfectly.

What THE **** else is there left to do, huh?

Do I have to go and hit someone with a plank? Commit suicide on live TV?

I am at my ****ing wits end, FFS.

So some ppl I know have been throttled on their Telkom accounts due to "excessive use", I use a 2MB line and download only in the evenings yet I see my usage tracker is in the orange.... Does any1 have any information for me on how much is "acceptable" in their eyes, as if I wasn't dling so sparingly I would be in the same boat o.O

Seems last night its back to old ways again. Couldn't stream anything on Netflix or Hulu above Low quality on 4mb TI. I was under the impression this was now sorted out @Ranger

How do you check your usage tracker? TIA!

So yeah we had a general power failure for like 6 hours, and now the exchange in our area is only 4mbps, whereas it had 14mbps attainable before. Is this a common problem, or should I be worried I am wasting 6mbps out of my wallet?

I am having no issues loading pages, it is just 3-4mbps, not 10mbps.

Wow so nice to play league of legends with 999 latency................

wow wtf Telkom Jesus Christ

Seems to be an issue where some people have excellent connections and many others have poor connections and service. Almost as if Telkom has prioritized certain areas.

So yeah we had a general power failure for like 6 hours, SNIP...

Oh man, wonder if it is coincidence as we had power cuts since before lunchtime yesterday so in all about +- 8hrs downtime of power. Only logged onto the PC now and see some complaints O_o.

Hope you come right. I noticed that the CellC tower i connect to also went out (funny thing is our side is one part of the grid whereas rest of Stanger was working?). So i was connecting via Darnall which is the first time i noticed and EDGE is crap :/. Haven't noticed any speed issues now on ADSL though. The CellC tower i think feeds off the exchange that is just under 500m away (not from me sadly) and i always thought these things have batteries / UPS to keep them up but it didn't last long :p.

Last weekend of June so crank those downloads up guys ;-)

Will make sure to update OP on reported usage one can do on the uncapped packages. My 10MB testing did get hampered due to the above power outage but i am hoping i can get just over 140GB until Sunday midnight. Bringing the total close to 840GB (currently on 703GB combined and no throttling). Not bad then :).
