How can you downgrade your account after only 12 hours?
That is jumping the gun a bit.

you know what they say about first experiences, I was very clear to the agent that I will test it and if not satisfied cancel.

There was not confusion there, but it is all sorted now at least I hope.

Wheels came off the TI DNS about 10 mins ago, switched to google DNS which is resolving OK but ping times to usual sites are bad.

17:30 - torrent speeds are good but speedtest.net won't run and speedtest.mybroadband.co.za doesn't open.

17:45 - still on google DNS, VPN backups & torrents running OK but browsing very slow with some sites not opening.

18:20 - TI DNS seems OK now, I switched to TI capped and back to uncapped, local IP changed from 105.227.xxx.xxx to 105.228.xxx.xxx.

What is changing at TI between 4-ish in the afternoon and 11-ish at night? Someone must know?

Back to normal I think

I wish Telkom would communicate problems at least internally, I had a technician wanting to test my line today, and seemed to struggle with my explanation that the problem wasn't my line.

Told him he's welcome to test it, but it'd be a waste of his time.

Customer behaviour. Nothing else changes. But, note that this can affect both us, and DLAMs.

We made some adjustments around 18h00, there should be some improvement, please let me know if you have seen an improvement or not.

Did you log a line fault? Or an ISP fault? As far as I know, we (TI) can't dispatch technicians, only ADSL (line) assurance can.

Gone down the tubes again like clockwork at 6pm. Speedtests timing out.

Mweb backup account working like a charm.

TI This is ridiculous !

ranger, with due respect, then the TI network is too far oversubscribed which is a pity because when it works, it's good.

Most international sites are not loading anymore for me. Stuck on 'looking up.....' to 'server not found'. Some do and load fine, but most don't load at all.

****ed in cape town, and I have a video conference with Rackspace in 30 minutes.... looking for another ISP quick

@ranger, No improvement tonight, local and international sites timing out. Changing DNS servers does nothing. It also hit me right at 6PM and was on-and-off several times in the course of the last hour and a half. I am back up now, though.

Jeanres, go pick up a free 1GB ADSL account from Afrihost. Mine works.

Will use around 15 GB tonight, so its pointless to get a 1GB :P

Now this is what I'm talking about! Thanks Wesley, you inadvertently reminded me that I have a free 1GB Afrihost account - which is running perfectly, so no-one is going to convince me the problem is line or exchange related. TI needs to get their ***** together. Things have been too hit and miss the past month or two. Very inconsistent.
