Just switched to my Mweb uncapped and getting 180+ again :/

Apparently they are doing their big upgrade to their new network this week. Dont be surprised by a few oddities along the way. I'm reserving my judgement until they have put us on their new network.

I sincerely hope that's the case. Because right now it's worse than Afrihost was when they were at their worst.

Anyone have an idea on the time line for this upgrade?

Same here , I'm on 4mb uncapped.
Speedtest I get 2mb down and 0.51mb up.

Mine's not that bad. My torrents are pulling 600's. Google services seem a bit sluggish tho.
 
As explained in the Telkom International, we had to make some changes that prevented us from using the full capacity we have.

We resolved most of the technical issues early this morning, so we can utilise the full capacity. There are some prioritisation rules we haven't put back in yet, which we will probably put back in sometime during the week.

As far as we can tell (at this time of the morning), there is a vast improvement. On the ADSL line in the office we were able to stream most 1080p Youtube videos we tried without buffering, speedtests are getting over 4 Mbps (we don't prioritise speedtest over web browsing or streaming) at the moment.
 
I will test tonight, but as of last night, I was unable to play PS3 online Fifa....
Hopefully the changes you made will have rectified the problem...
Was very happy with my previous service so expect at least the same QoS :)
 
Same here.Torrents are either downloading at 1-10 kbps or not starting at all and i can't connect to black ops 2 either , Im on the 4meg uncapped package, is the instability of the network due to upgrades or what?
 
Seems Telkom have stuffed up what was a good product.

Line is dead again.
 
In their defense currently I'm downloading 6.1 via iTunes for an old 3GS and it's cruising along quite nicely at almost 800kbps but as for YouTube and the rest of the interwebs the experience is quite miserable.
 
Since the IP switch at the start of this month, my shaped Telkom account is experiencing packet loss and variable unpredictable speeds that sometimes drops to double-digit KB/s; not a problem on other accounts. Am I alone with this problem? I used to swear by Telkom accounts for their consistency so I'm hoping this is temporary XD Anyone confirm if there are any known issues pertaining to this that they may still be trying to iron out?

same here, no problems. 2meg uncapped bundle, unfortunately my line only syncs at 1.56 megs but no problems downloading or youtube :), maybe I'm the only one on the exchange :) sorry dont do any online gaming.



 
I'm going to cancel with these plums. I can't even browse. It's like being back on an Afrihost account :mad:

same here , back to MWEB again. Day time restrictions were removed , but replaced with heavy shaping. potato , po-ta-toe
