I just confirmed my theory now, it is news.saix that is faulty, im running a trial account now (tweak) and getting a constant 207 kbps, its not dipping, if anything its picking up to about 220kbps, but not going lower than 207kbps... D@M it seems imma have to stop being a pirate and start paying for a news server...

I tested the same server you did - much better throughput than news.saix.net, but still not really line speed (peaking at about 320kbps on a 4mbps line). Much better, though.
Now I gotta weigh up that server's cost vs Hulu+. (I already got Netflix, but current shows are an issue)

Please see the below speed tests on a 2mbps line...it seems more like dial up speeds. Local speedtest does not even go up to 1 mbps. Something is seriously wrong....

My torrents have slowed down again - they fly at full speed between midnight and 8am it seems.

I never reboot my router. But sometimes Eskoms power dips will do it for me

You know what, I've been wondering why my pc sometimes just resets over night or during the day while downloading.
This answers it.

Stats look decent enough for 4MB. Your Attenuation is great but SNR is a bit low, anything around 10db and under will result in disconnects.
I dont know if that line will sustain 10MB though.

Its cool, not really interested in a 10mb line at this point.
I haven't had any problems yet, even during the storm we had last night (was to excited to unplug)

I never had to reset it due to any issues, but I do switch it off once a week for about 8 hours, usually on mondays. Lol
