A friend of mine called last night fuming.
He's just recently connected with Axxess.
He has downloaded a total of 22gb in 12 days and has officially been placed on a management profile which has reduced his throughput to less than 30kb/s.
 poor guy
He's cancelling for Telkom.
They should not offer uncapped if they put you on a naughty list if you are downloading. I mean hello why do they think we want unlimmited data to use?
Telkom would never do such an underhanded thing LMAO
So 2nd night in a row where my traffic more or less died overnight and I only managed a few megabytes between midnight and 6AM. Torrents are still COMPLETELY dead (0 kilobytes per second) between 7AM and 11PM. Everything else jumps from 1-100 kilobytes on my 1MB line. Very erratic. Problem must however be on my side LOL.
MWEB sending letters.
WEBAfrica is sending letters.
All Ti ever sends me is a bill![]()
Shame...I feel sorry for those clients contracted those ISP's. LOL
By this, are you meaning your NNTP downloads are erratic? coz im having the same issue, i can suggest something though, have a try with a Paid for News server (trial) you can try Tweaknews, they offer a 10 gig trial, that will rule out whether its the actual server thats faulty or not, because, i only managed to get 2 gigs completed last night between 11pm and 6 am this morning, and thats not normal for me, but when i ran a speedtest this morning, i got a result of 230Kbps download speed, so unless my NNTP is being prioritized low, (Which i actually doubt - Im an Optimist DONT JUDGE ME) im thinking the news server is faulty (news.saix.net) can any body maybe confirm that... or maybe, every1 that's getting awesome speeds on TI, are you getting good speeds on NNTP and is this with the news.saix.net server or are you using a Paid for service and if so, which service is this?
NNTP?
I am downloading NZBs using the news.saix.net server with nzb files downloaded from NZB-SA. They motoring along now at +-10 kilobytes per second. Even this very page had to be refreshed 4-5 times before displaying. So fedup with Telkom Internet. Help is also only provided to a certain few as my query a while ago about sudden stoppage (you can't call 5 kilobytes per second on a 1MB line shaping) of torrent downloads and also the major throttling of my account was never to this day answered. I basically have to download between midnight and 6AM. So I can only use the internet for a quarter of the time I am paying for.
Time to move on. Hope the monkey's asses can cancel my account without another massive screw up![]()
Charl is back on the TelkomZa inbox after being away for a couple of weeks.
Try PM'ing TelkomZa once more.
Worked wonders on my side...
Thinking of doing the sameI'm eyeing the Telkom Business uncapped, but can't seem to find any feedback or threads on that. Am I missing something or do we need a new thread?
PS. Anyone using Telkom Business? Price isn't half shabby and if it means a lesser shaped product than Telkom Home...![]()

Sorry, NNTP is NZB's, but have you tried my theory of signing up for a trial account and seen if maybe it could be the TI News server perhaps? imma give my trial a go now and see how that plays out...
Lol, jynxed it waaaaay too early, you did. And here I was jealous that our Paarl neighbours got some solid connection speeds. But don't feel alone... my connection is also completely pear-shaped todayHello Murphy...
So just this morning, I'm telling a guy from Wellington (in a sub-forum thread) that all is hunky-dory in Paarl, and that Xmas might have come early, since my fastest Speedtest speeds ever, were measured at about 08:35... Just under 5mbps on a 4mbps line, uncapped...
Tonight - it's properly in its moer. >650 ping 150kb down, about the same up... Will check in a bit to make sure the issue is not my side...
Anyone else in the WC suffering tonight?
