this is my latest bill from Telkom, been upgraded from to 2mb to 4mb Capture.jpg I did some calls as well for the value of R26. so the 4mb should be R550 per month including all rentals and discounts

That's nice. My invoice is showing R740 for the Up to 10Mbps line and 4Mbps uncapped including discounts... I think I'm going to downgrade to the Up to 4Mbps line cause my exchange does not support 10Mbps so whats the use of paying more for the same thing when I could be paying less....

My DSLAM cannot do 10 mbps either so I asked to be downgraded to 4mbps. I expect my new monthly bill to be R705 which includes the residential telephone line, ADSL Faster and do Uncapped Advanced.
 
ok thats interesting....so if i agree to keep my line with Telkom for 12 month i get an extra discount?
how do i sign up for this....i am already on 4MB, uncapped...
 
I called Telkom now because my pings are through the roof and speedtests coming back at less than 1MB. The tech tells me they busy working on the exchange to enable 10MB.
Is 10MB capable on a .gmt exchange?
 
sigh how long does these upgrades take because my pings have been through the roof for the past 5 days?
 
New customer to telkom adsl...really pleased with the 2mb speed.

Anybody know if Telkom has a throttling policy like Mweb?

No, nothing like Mweb.
2mb line will get 320gb +
And still not see any form of throttle.

Torrents are heavily shaped whilst nntp is unaffected.

Yes its a pretty decent discount too. You will have the do bundle discount plus the line discount. its about R200 some change discount. You are still able to downgrade and upgrade the line if you wish. You may also cancel before the contract ends but they will make you pay the back the amount of discount you got.

You need to dial 10210 and go to cancelations and ask for the 25% discount on your line if you keep it with telkom for 12 months. They will load the discount for you
