Any one else getting failing downloads? Im also getting very choppy torrent speeds. Sometimes full speed, then it will dwindle down to next to nothing. This is driving me crazy! Only happening on my TI Uncapped account.

For clarification on the pro-rata thing: They will bill you according to your billing cycle. So mine is from the 12'th meaning that even though I signed up yesterday I will still pay the full price for these next 13 days.

My speeds have been consistently horrid so far. Still can't get a speedtest over 4Mb/s on my 10Mb/s account.

Didn't realize you had only just signed up, 10210 has probably not set up your 10Mbs line / 10Mbps uncapped combo correctly.

Test your line speed is correct with a capped account from another ISP. If that's good then they haven't configured your Do Uncapped Ultimate correctly, gird your loins and prepare to spend some time sorting it out with 10210 (hopefully ranger will see this and intercede if necessary).

Yes, signed up yesterday.
My line is syncing at 10 (and I've used a 10Mb account on it before fine) - so possibly they've skrewed up the Do Uncapped part...
Although I've been on the phone with 3 different people this morning to try see whatsup. After a port reset it's still the same.

I will test with my Afrihost 1GB account to see (later though, as I see their capacity is being rerouted atm).

Hi Ranger tried to cancel my uncapped today but could not wait anymore was waiting 18 minutes for a consultant then the second time 16 minutes so i tried one of the internet options got thru within 2 minutes and he puts back on hold at cancellations . i held on for 15 minutes and hung up so whats my options now ,i think u need 30days notice on uncapped if i am right. So i am punished for a extra month right?

Yip, also had failing downloads so i just keep retrying until it downloads properly (sometimes 100% still yields crc errors).

So good to be back to 2MB speeds, i missed it so much :D. Thank You Ti (Ranger and the team) for making sure we get reset right on time :).

Lets hope so :).

I would like to hear from the 10MB uncapped users on what their experience has been at over 500-800GBs. If you guys are lurking, leave a comment or 2 please.

On the 10MB uncapped I got about 557Gigs last month and my TI tracker usage was halfway according on the bar indicator and I was orange. I did not experience any lurking and there was no difference in my downloads or streaming

Have the Seacom line issues been completely fixed? I ask because I'm still not back to the 1.6MBPS I was getting before the line issues started on a 2MBPS line. Only able to get 1.3MBPS at the moment.

Yep, as far as I know seacom is completely fixed.

Darn...so any idea why my speed is down 0.3MBPS then? (or alternatively down from a 210 kb/s http download to 160kb/s http download). No way it's exchange congestion in that short amount of time (2 months).

Cheers for this, switching to 10MB uncapped tomorrow as this is what i plan to do about since i need to prepare for Xbox 3 unveiling and do some other testing this month :). So much for watching my usage :p.

How much is 10mb including line and uncapped? Only reason I switched from 4mb is I wasn't really needing the speed

I was under the impression everyone in the entire country (or at least most of it) had been having internet speed reductions (I just mean slightly slower net, not actual speed downgrades) cuz of the break in the Seacom cable that occurred sometime near the start of March or end of Feb, can't remember?
At least the makes sense to me cuz that's when my line speed dropped from 1.6MBPS to 1.3MBPS even though I didn't do anything and wasn't told anything.

It's either that or I'm still being throttled despite the new month (and I wasn't going that far overboard to begin with)...or the exchange got enough new users in the last 2 months that it's now completely congested to the point of introducing new lag.

Telkom don't use Seacom... they did rent some space for the SWC2010 but that was a temporary measure.

I was under the impression the cable breaks were affecting all local ISPs? Not just ones actually using Seacom?

Why else would my speed drop at the same time and stay down since then? (if it's not being throttled)

Telkom uses Sat3. If Seacom, Wacs or Eassy goes down Telkom users are not affected. I suggest you perform a tracert to a local destination to rule out any congestion on your exchange. Also look at your router stats to check the quality of your line.
