dammit telkom has the best priced 2mb uncapped at the moment. but the 200gig limit is a bit harsh. if throttling begins can one still surf,etc.?

Barely. That's why shaping is better than throttling. Doesn't kill the whole experience!
 
Seems like they have eased off a bit on the throttling. Was stuck on 100kB/s for the past week and tonight it has increased to a steady 180kB/s on torrents.

Combined usage for May = 565GB on 4MB line.

Next month will probably only do about 250GB as I was catching up on 6 months of pathetic iBurst while waiting for ADSL to be installed.
 
What is the point of throttling, anyway? Seriously, what is there to be gained?

Do the servers "overload" or something that they have to decrease our speeds?

Can someone explain throttling?

All i see so far is just reason to get people to hop onto the higher priced packages, am i wrong?

After paying off my Son`s braces in the next few months Im going over to the 2mg uncapped.

Cant we at least have throttling after hours?
 
Noone is explaining. I thought there would be some good reason behind this. As i thought, throttling is unjustified.
 
Whats the deal with 4meg uncapped being crappy for torrents? i checked the TiT and SAIX counter....69 gigs for the month and all the way green on the TiT bar...my current torrents are slow as hell....I am in Green Point Cape Town, all other protocols are sailing!

Same here, still in the green and downloads are very slow - uploads OK :confused:

Switched to axxess capped and downloads now fine.
 
All green on TiTracker,415GB UL/DL , usenet to the US @ 800KBps, torrents @ 2.3KBps (SAB Paused)...... :sick:

Could someone share the link for checking your upload and download stats, I know its here somewhere but I cannot find it. Cheers.
