1Mbits/second or 1024 bits/second = 128Kbytes/s = 7680KB/min = 450MB/hr = 10.5 GB/day = 316GB/month (30 days)

That is the theoretical maximum. But as said, if you take overheads off and take into account that it will never run at 100% speed 100% of the time I will venture to say around 7GB on a good line. I have done 6.5 on a good day.

So I have used about 1/3 of the maximum amount I can theoretically use in a month and that is taking the piss?

Was my argument earlier before my head was taken of....

Suppose wanting to get the maximum and best value for your money is taboo? We should all just be happy to be allowed on the interwebs. :D

If we give you 1:1 on the home uncapped, why would we have a business uncapped?

BTW, we may have some enhancements ready for next month ...

I will provide more info when I can ...

OK. So business uncapped can use the full 3/3 of the service they pay for while I can only use 1/3 of the service I pay for? why avdvertise a 1MB line yet get upset with consumers who like to use what they pay for (or consumers who dare to think they can at least use 2/3). What am I missing? Nevermind. I have seen previous threads discuss this very thing and have had my fill of self-righteousness for the day. Will just wait for the new month.

Look forward to those changes ranger :).

So i hit my 10MB limit (speed reduced to 1MB), just need to get all my info together so expect the long awaited post update later this week. OP will be updated.

Remember that there is no fixed usage limit but this month for me it was 823GB (combined as per saix usage site) url here for others to check theirs.

Am quite pleased. Maybe just abit more to 1TB woulda been nice ;-). Still value for money if one considers streaming, steam sale downloads, some p2p and browsing (also 2 other devices connected).

Whatever you guys do don't break it. Seems to be working very well now. combined 400GB on 4 meg uncapped and the line just does what I need it too (streams when I want it too etc) so excellent currently. Only gripe is the latency issue and gaming.

You mean R850?

No I mean less than R750, ADSL line + Uncapped @ R590 + voice line @ R148 = R748

If you sign up to keep your ADSL line with Telkom for 12 months you will get a 25% discount (Thanks ShaneZN for the heads up on this one)

I firmly believe in keeping your line with Telkom and not your ISP as it makes switching a seemless event. Too many tales of people having their lines cancelled when trying to switch ISP and then spending weeks without an ADSL line (the horror :wtf:)
So signing up for 12 months and getting 25% off was a no brainer for me at least.

@ Gboss, has your problems been resolved?
What did they do?

I'm still having issues with my speed, at night I'm stuck at around 1.7MB which is a slight improvement over 0.8MB.
I had Telkom come over again today and they said they still getting errors on my line. The technician says he needs to rectify the errors first before he can have my port changed over.

Have they made any progress with your problem yet?

This discount still available?

220gb and it seems I am throttled on 4mb. Getting 1/4 line speed. If that's the limit, I'll be canceling.

Restarting the router doesn't help.

Signates reported that when he was throttled speedtest.net reflected 1Mbs download until the new month, what's your current download speed on speedtest.net?

I'm still fine, sitting at 294,885MB on 4Mbps.

213GB on a 2mb Uncapped, I'm in the orange bar and says I'm in contravention of the Acceptable usage policy.
