213GB on a 2mb Uncapped, I'm in the orange bar and says I'm in contravention of the Acceptable usage policy.
It's been like that since they they got TI Tracker running again on uncapped accounts back in April (I think ?), bar turns orange at about 50% and that message pops up - meaningless actually, red seems to be the "biggie".

I'm on 73GB so far, and well in the green. Most I've gone is around 130GB at any one time, and was still in the green.

BTW, we may have some enhancements ready for next month ...

I will provide more info when I can ...

Im sitting on 190 Gigs total up & down on a 2Meg Uncapped line with TI, and still sitting in the Green on saix, and still getting full line speed.... So..... Kudos to TI....

@Ranger, any chance you can mention what the change is or what its gonna DO?

Please say when you get to orange and your usage then... Will be interesting to compare.

I'm still having issues with my speed, at night I'm stuck at around 1.7MB which is a slight improvement over 0.8MB.
I had Telkom come over again today and they said they still getting errors on my line. The technician says he needs to rectify the errors first before he can have my port changed over.

Have they made any progress with your problem yet?

Nobody seems to be doing anything to fix mine.
My speeds are up and down. Sometimes at full speed and other times not even getting 1Mbps.

I sent another PM to TelkomZA last Friday giving him an update expalining nothings been fixed. I got a reply on monday and then they sent through another technician.
This afternoon I woke up my line was down but it came back up again around 2pm. I did a speedtest and was getting 2.9MB but I'm holding my comments till I test again later this evening.

I'd advise sending another PM to TelkomZa, I'm positive he'll escalate the issue for you.

This discount still available?

Yep just call 10210 go to line cancellations (option 5 I think) and tell them you wanna get the 25% discount. They will advise you its subject to signing on for 12 months, you agree and voila 4MB line for R318 (only R19 more than 2MB which R299)
Signing up for 12months does not mean you stuck at 4MB, you can downgrade or upgrade your line speed at anytime, you just cancel your ADSL line for 12 months.

Signup and use the bucks you saved to get a Gold Account :)

No I mean less than R750, ADSL line + Uncapped @ R590 + voice line @ R148 = R748

If you sign up to keep your ADSL line with Telkom for 12 months you will get a 25% discount (Thanks ShaneZN for the heads up on this one)

I firmly believe in keeping your line with Telkom and not your ISP as it makes switching a seemless event. Too many tales of people having their lines cancelled when trying to switch ISP and then spending weeks without an ADSL line (the horror :wtf:)
So signing up for 12 months and getting 25% off was a no brainer for me at least.

total cost for my 4 meg uncapped account is: R677 (ALL costs including line rental and vat) so every big savings with Telkom even if line sometimes faulty.

It should be R847. the 25 % discount is huge and well worth the 1 year commitment.

Im jealous, they wouldn't give me the discount on the uncapped else I should be paying the same.

But does this now mean you tied into a 4MB uncapped with Telkom with 12 months?

I cant even open the telkom adsl fault website.

#$%^ I hate these clowns

Just want to know if using a old pc more or less 10 years old, i know iknow lol could interrupt your downloads like stop them, the cpu is a intel e5200.

I don't think so. If your downloads do stop it would be something like your power drop, your pc goes into hibernation, pc overheats, router loose sync, a scheduler for torrent client kicks in, etc

yes however the savings are worth it. Can easily buy a few gigs afrihost capped if needed however dont need to.

I tried to sign up for 12 months on the uncapped, in fact I phoned them 4 times and was shot down. It seems if you got the 25% on the uncapped you were fortunate. I never had a problem since joining Ti, except lately my connection has been slow from 3pm onwards. Slow as in 2MB instead of 4MB but I have an open ticket with Telkom and they investigating, thanks to TelkomZA. Possible exchange congestion, although my tracerts show no lag on the 2nd or 3rd hops.

Still R748 for 4MB uncapped is still a great deal. In fact I have 2 friends that have recently signed up for 4MB and they stunned by the daytime performance of the account. 400kbps on a torrent during business hours, thanks Ti.

I would firstly disable all power managment on your PC ie. set it to never go to sleep or turn off hard disks.

If your problem goes away then you know that it was the PC hibernating/sleeping that was at fault.

If your downloads still keep getting interrupted then investigate your ADSL line or ISP account.
