0_o thought it might be safe to use Telkom's automatic DNS again....nope, back to the Datapro/VOX one I usually use.

Fernglen PE speeds this evening on 10meg uncapped, rivaling 56k dial-up.

Line stats perfect. First issue since joining a month ago.

Live on top of the DSLAM.

Any ideas why it's crawling ?

Can you post ur SNR and atten stats, also tracert somewhere and ping -n 100 the first hop ip?

Might give a better idea?
 
Does this tracert show that the issue is on the ti/isp side as the first two hops are fine?

Seems to be an issue at Belville on what I assume to be edge services router or it's links.
 
Magically fixed this morning :wtf:

Been getting that message since this morning when trying to check my stats at saix.net.
Browsing still not great from time to time.

Will have to try the opendns settings

Quick question,

Is it just the DGN 2200 netgear Routers bought through Telkom that needs their specific firmware?

everyone I tried, including this one. Can't tracert neither. just says that blah blah could not be resolved. but it works fine when I type in the IP.

I'm using open DNS's at the moment and the problem is gone.

A few guys here having the same-ish problem

Without details (e.g what DNS IPs you got, and at least one example query to said DNS IP), I can't report it. At present, this is not a service we supply/run ourselves, otherwise I would have access to stats etc.

SAIX's radius accounting database was unavailable for some time this morning, but was fixed by this afternoon.

But that has nothing to do with DNS not working or speeds.

Yeah. I still error pages that did not open or very slow to respond. That is why I reffered to the dns. I could not really check this afternoon, so not sure if my issues are sorted yet. It is only the browsing though. Downloads seems to run good.

DNS at it again. Can't hit daringfireball.net or engadget.com yet I can post this to mybb.
On DNS 196.43.34.190 and 196.43.53.190 assigned by WAN.

Yip... 3 evenings in a row now. Im also having streaming issues AGAIN.
