Telkom Internet Uncapped User Feedback.

Speeds were up and down for me as well during the day. At times good, at times really rubbish. Busy reinstalling Windows and really strugled at times to open pages or to download drivers or apps. Had Youtube videos die on me with zero http traffic. Other times the download speed was really good.
 
Thought it was just me having issues tonight, it's crawling at 20-50kbs on a 10Mb line/account.
 
My connection is haywire to say the least. Since Thursday, browsing has been up and down. Today it's more down than up. International Speedtest:

Download Speed: 329 kbps (41.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 134 kbps (16.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 419 ms

Since Thursday, NNTP runs at 1,1MB/s - and that's not even using SSL. http downloads have fluctuated between 200 & 800 KB/s. Now, http = what you see above. But NNTP & Youtube are still clocking at 1,1MB/s. Other streaming sites are dead. Browsing is like pulling teeth. My usage shows me at 1/4 of the green bar - Normal User. Stats @ SAIX show that I moved about 152 GB of data between Friday and Sunday. wtf!

This is insane! I have a 4mb account. (it synchs at 10mb though)

Exact same issue, only difference is i can stream with no buffering at all.
 
Every time they implement changes the service just gets worse and worse, and its becoming more common.

The last week has been really poor ... would love to know what they're doing to make the network become so cr@p.

Please fix it Telkom !!
 
I can't understand what they would be messing with now. Things were fine for a good few weeks. Hopefully ranger can shed some light.
 
Mine is also shyte maybe someone can shed some light on a problem i have been having for 3-4 months now,my downloads stop whenever they please i.e 86% 20% etc.What i have tried so far contacted TelkomZA with tracert reply no problem contacted isp account in order tried swapping filters,routers bought new pc my line is fine tried different isp test accounts,same problem quite frankly at the end of my rope here.PLS Help.Frustrated like hell.

Signed up with Afrihost to test things out - when I log on through them, all is as it was - cruising downloads at 3,45mb. Back on TI, downspeed makes it all the way up to 0.8mb, if I'm lucky....

Call in to 10210 - "we'll test your line Sir" | "There doesn't appear to be a problem with my line, since the other ISP is working just fine" | "Oh, okay then - then there is nothing else that can be done" | "Can you at least give me a ticket number, so that I can follow up with people on MyBB [i.e Ranger; TelkomRep]"| "Sure - I'll sms you one in a few minutes"|| Still waiting... :(
 
Anyone else having issues tonight in the Cape Town area? Had no issues past 2 months now suddenly last 2 days, I cant even load speed test. 4mb Uncapped TI on 6mb line. Usage trackers says I have done 52gb this month. :erm:

You're not alone :(

10meg uncapped working like good old dial-up again.

Some feedback as to the evident problems would be really welcome.

The silence is depressing.
