I'm a little concerned about the Shaped Data part for online gaming. What you guys suggest?

AS far as i know, the "Shaped" only applies to your Downloads, according to a post by Ranger if im not mistaken, Gaming is prioritized to the highest especially at specific times of the day... Also, im on the package you mentioning here, and all i can say is...

Having been on Mweb and Afrihost 10mb uncapped, I'm thinking of switching to Telkom. Thoughts?
 
Si I have decided to get me one of them 4Mb uncapped packages. They will install the telephone line on Friday. So when does the telephone line become active so that I can activate the adsl? I really hope I have internet this weekend...

Just gave notice on mine. Sick and tired of this service which is so on and off. Since around 17H30 again today I can hardly get a webpage open and that on a 4Mbps line.

Tried to do a speed test and unable to do so. Page does not even load properly. Sorry Telkom, been your customer for going on 3 years now but enough is enough.

This would truly suck if I will be experiencing the same issue.

Moved to TI 4Mbs uncapped from TI 2Mbps back in March and I am very happy. I'm sure MKFrost has grounds for his complaint but from the comments in this thread I'm sure it's only a minority of users with hassles.

Hope you get your account up & running for the weekend.

That just doesn't sound right... If other ISP's works fine maybe you should try to cancel your isp portion from telkom and get a new account with telkom again. Maybe its the account?

I'm just suggesting something cause my 4mb works great with telkom. Everything works very well except torrents which seems is very shaped....
 
Don't make a mistake. My service has been great. Hardly ever had problems except for the odd days where things just not go anywhere. However, over the past month the service has definitely degraded. Especially so between the hours of 17H00 to around 22H00 at night.

If this was a once off or say a day or two in the week I can maybe try and understand but this is happening DAILY like clockwork. It took me almost 4 minutes just to get this page to load properly. Below are images of what happens to my speedtest's. They just time out and give errors. Also see what MyBB looks like for me on a 4Mbps line. And not just MyBB, any other page I try and open loads like this. Takes me about 10 'refreshes' before it loads properly.

And no, I have nothing else but my browser running and its only me on this line.

Agree 100%! Ive been with telkom for a little under a year now and never looked back...

Guys... anybody of any work has been done in the wilropark area? My line was a bit problematic lately I logged a request with telkomza, he fixed the issue, but now (dont get me wrong, im not complaining) on my 2meg line, im getting speeds (not like constant) of about 370 (max) kbps on my nntp downloads... its awesome!

And there everything is back to normal. ADSL running like the clappers.

I think Telkom must do what Eskom does and have those things on TV to say"

'ADSL usage is currently very high, please turn off any torrents and or streaming movies' :D
 
Placed my order today for TI 4mb uncapped... will report back as soon as I have anything good/bad to say (or the actual internet connection) :P
 
can anyone tell me if the do uncapped 10mb bundle for R1156 includes vat?would just like an idea of what my monthly bill will look like
