Internet's been flawless all week, actually - but tonight things went to hell a bit. Browsing is extremely slow, yet traceroutes are fine. Speedtest showed 3.1mbps on my 4mbps line (a bit low, but not too bad, it usually gives about 3.6mbps). Still, browsing resembles 56k modem days.I would appreciate feedback on whether users going through the Cape Town site have seen an improvement since Tuesday morning. When posting, if your location isn't set, please give an idea of your location, or post a traceroute so I can identify the site you are going through.
Sorry for not having responded to issues on this thread in the past week.
Unfortunately we have a very busy schedule this month, with a lot of late-night changes, many of them aimed at fixing issues you are experiencing, or preventing them from happening in the future with other product enhancements that are in the pipeline.
We have been experiencing some capacity issues on our traffic management platform. Those were resolved for our Cape Town site with an upgrade performed on Monday night/Tuesday morning.
Our Gauteng site (also serving KZN at present) didn't have as bad a problem, so it was not the priority, and we have some other network upgrades to complete this weekend. There will be maintenance on Friday night/Saturday morning, and Saturday night/Sunday morning. If all the changes we did last weekend in preparation for this change work correctly, there should be minimal impact during the changes, except possibly when we test failover.
The upgrade for the traffic management platform in our Gauteng site is planned for next week, the exact day hasn't been decided on yet. There is almost no impact to users during this upgrade, equipment is on-site, and we are finalising the last details required to get the hardware ready to go in. If all other changes go well this weekend, we may be able to do this upgrade early next week, but worst case is by next weekend.
Unfortunately the first change on the past weekend went quite badly, so we ended up with additional change windows, and there wasn't time to get to responding to PMs. Also, we're behind on a few projects, so it really has been too much work and not enough play for the past two weeks.
I would appreciate feedback on whether users going through the Cape Town site have seen an improvement since Tuesday morning. When posting, if your location isn't set, please give an idea of your location, or post a traceroute so I can identify the site you are going through.
Apparently a problem from the Supersport website side. All ISP's experience this. Sucks
And, all traffic we can detect as gaming traffic *also* has the same priority.
Also would be interested in the answer.Hi Ranger. The above interests me. How would that comment of yours relate to the inclusion of Microsoft XBox live and SONY PSN server Ip's?
Thanks

Kirkwood 4Mbps
TI definitely an issue atm with Supersport.
Changed to a backup ISp and no buffering issues at all.
It ran well yesterday till about 12:00 and then it began stuttering every second and it hasn't changed since then.
Its not a Ti issue, streaming on SuperSport has been erratic across all ISP's.
Check the thread below, it looks like the issue is with the way SuperSport streams its content.
http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...for-Supersport-streaming-Does-this-make-sense
That still dont explain how it worked with a different ISP, might just have been a fluke![]()
Url for the site?Anyone else getting terrible speeds from american-hosted sites? I get maximum 0.4mbps :/
