As for torrents or Usenet, Electric HOW do you get max 24/7??? I have joined 1st November, and have yet to see anything downloading faster than 160KB/s in the evenings on saix (during the day I see its basically running 15KB/s max), and torrents are sh&t the whole time.

How is it that existing customers can run as they like, and me the new customer have to sit with crap, I'm just saying this does not seem fair, some people run full speed and others can't!

@Pakka, I can't recommend this account, like I said I joined start of the month, and Im not happy at all currently.

I'm also fairly new.
Joined start of August.

The distance from your exchange plays a part in your line speed.
I would imagine that is your problem.

Not sure though.

I don't torrent though, only news.

Its not the problem, running on an Openweb account, it runs max (2mb) @ 215Kb/s, had 230ms ping in Heroes of Newerth, just before the end of November. I cancelled my Mweb and Openweb accounts to save money, now running on Ti. Seems that only some areas are privilaged to use TI properly.
 
My local pings are all over the place, anyone else getting 40-500ms when pinging myadsl.co.za?

I'm ALL over the place here, wtf.

Never mind, we reset the port, everything cool now, glitch in the Matrix.

Given that I am only able to access userstats and not the tit racker...

What is generally the GB amount before one gets put into a "bad" or "power user" category by TelkomInternet? (1Mbps)
 
Good news for a change, today my torrents were running well, both nzbs and torrents were pretty much maxing out this afternoon :D

depends on your line speed

On 1MB you can expect to be throttled at around 120GB. But if you do alot of your bulk downloads between 00:00 amd 06:00 you can get alot more than 120GB.
Too lazy to go back and find examples but I remember someone doing 200Gb on a 1MB package before being throttled.
 
After two weeks of pathetic download speeds with my line being out of sync, hours spent on hold with 10210, being pinballed between Telkom ADSL and TI, getting multiple reference numbers and being mean to the point of evil with TelkomZa via PM... Someone, somewhere did something right.

My line's been syncing at 4096kbs since yesterday - that's 2 days in a row now that it seems fine. HTTP download speeds still a bit erratic but much closer to 400kbs than at anytime in the last couple of weeks...

Holding thumbs that this lasts...
 
Hi guys, have some of youre lines been upgraded? I am still waiting for my line upgrade?
 
Not sure if this has been asked before, but what happens with the line upgrades (for instance, 4mbps to 10mbps). Will our do Uncapped accounts also upgrade, or do we need to phone 10210 and get them upgraded manually?

Telkom Internet will do the upgrade once Telkom Wholseale (ADSL) have indicated that you area has been upgraded.

So our Uncapped account speeds are upgraded in conjunction with the line speeds, without a price increase?

Would be better if they just sorted out their **** so we can get the maximum out of the lines we currently have. You know, stable pings that aren't double that of the competition and maybe stop throttling our torrents to the point of having broadband is becoming a dream again....
