It is news.saix.net port 119 and 2 connections, User and Password you leave blank.

You can always put news2.saix.net with the same details as above.... If those 2 dont work on your TI Setup, try a trial account with Tweaknews to see if it isnt maybe your connection thats faulty, or that saix is off line.

No, not all of us. When I do do the odd torrent, it runs at between 50 to 100 % line speed any time of day, depending on the number of seeders. But then I'm only averaging 150Gb pm on my 4 meg uncapped account, so I guess the "power user" flag has never been tripped on my account.

The bar will go from green to orange to red as usage increases throughout the month. IIRC Ranger mentioned that this "dumbed-down" tool was going to be revised in the new year in order to give us more info. It's on the back-burner at the moment apparently, due to more pressing issues with upgrades, shaping management, etc.

Wait a week or two...It will magically change colour!

Of course, if your usage remains low, it may not change at all, or stay in the green, as mine does.

Ja well, no fine; the scheduled 4Mb > 10Mb Uncapped upgrade did not happen :(

Finally got through to Tracey on 10210 who said she could see it was "stuck in the system" and should be sorted by this evening, they will SMS me.

Re the 10210 "your call is important to us" queue. A couple of times I've put the phone on speaker and listened to music and "next available operator blah blah" for up to 30mins before hanging up. The two times I have got through I was connected immediately so I'm guessing the queuing system isn't working.
 
My average speed during 00:00 - 06:00 was 172.8 kB/s last night. This is on a 4Mbps line.
This has been the trend for me from about the 30th November according to my records.

00:00 - 06:00 is the suggested preferred down load period according to TI, but at those speeds it is useless for me, so I will have to reschedule my download for hours outside that parameter.

I got mine set up with 2 connections, and its working fine??
 
Hi Ranger

Would you please give us some feedback in terms of video streaming atm? No one expects of you personally to read this whole thread or everyone's pm's so no sweat if you missed it ( I did try TelkomZa with no reply), but video steaming (netflix, youtube etc) has been atrocious the past 3 weeks. Any news on this from your side?

Got the SMS at 11:30, username & email stayed the same but I was given a new password. Tested, working, happy :)
 
Guys I am looking at getting a 2mb uncapped option. How is Telkom uncapped besides the P2P shaping furing the day? I don't mind dl'ing during offpeak hours. How are things like YouTube, games, steam, etc?

My 2nd day on TI (2mb).

Been running torrents during office hours for the sake of experimenting. Currently getting good speeds of between 160kbs and 200kbs, but speed is very erratic and most of the day was below 10kbs.

Average of past 4 hours was 67kbs which is quite bad. Will see what happens tonight after office hours.

Anyone else's international ping very high? Getting 592ms to NY and speedtest shows 2.58 Mbps down on a 4mb line.

yes mine is really really bad in terms of gaming, not just the international but the local as well, have a 500 ping on dota 2 :(

streaming and youtube etc etc seems to be doing fine, 720p on youtube is flying....seems to be just gaming
