How did you get cancelled? Did you go to telkom outlet or did the telkom guys call you back to confirm cancellation?

Afrihost makes it so easy to cancel. Just press a button before like the 28th of the month and they cancel you, easy.

25th hey, but I would say 24th just to be sure.
 
If anybody in the cape region can give feedback regarding their Netflix quality, please??

I called 10210, they called me back about Wednesday to say it will be cancelled on the 13th of next month. If it will actually happen that is another story.
 
Jeez Telkom sort this out now, can't even open a webpage. Download speeds are pathetic no matter if it's a torrent or a direct download, been going on like this for a couple of days now. Eastern Cape area King Williams Town.
 
Netflix streaming still not what it should be, Telkom is taking all its customers for ride!!! Almost sure they are throttling residential speeds. My neighbor next door runs his business from home and he has a business uncapped package from Telkom and has no problems with speed!!!
 
Still buffering trying to stream 128kbps radio on my rip off expensive 10MB account.
 
I couldn't even download a 300Mb file last night using a download manager. Even my 40mb download couldn't complete and I schedule it after 12.

Actually speechless at how this has played out with no fix.

A truly broken company without strategic direction, where customers don't count.

Ideally one would want to take all their business elsewhere, but there is no real fixed line alternative in SA. No cable. No FTTH. No competition.

Starting 2014 off with a bang, Telkom.

I know it's the weekend, but I'd hope we'd at least get daily updates given the length and gravity of this issue.

I'm trying to be patient, but having my internet rewound to 1999 speeds is taking its toll. :D

Agreed...Think their system crashed and they restored from the wrong back-up (probably 1999) .... now we are screwed :(

Anyhow, downloads seem to be better, but latency is still over 600ms to Europe.

Not that it will do anything, but I'm going to lodge a complaint with the consumer commission for a refund. Best effort service is not less than 10% of what you're paying for.
 
Someone just sent me an image on whatsapp... I have to disconnect ny phone from the wifi connection to download it :rolleyes:

What can a consumer do when the DSLAM is congestion i have to wait like 3min for a page to load and when i run a tracert route:

Can't cancel in store, but at least they have phones that dial the call center. Got helped real quickly and efficiently (have to give them credit for that - the agent was very good). Afrihost uncapped account flying, can finally catch up on some youtube and hulu :)
