Things like this. There are many others, just scroll the thread.
No problems here, Fedora/Centos yum updates running fine and have moved 85GB so far this month (mainly torrents). I have noticed slow browsing after 17:00 but not to the extent of page timeouts or 404 errors as have been reported by some.

No problems with clients running TI either - believe me when I say I'd hear about it fast.

... just saying.

BTW: TI have been playing with international routing, bbc.co.uk is no longer routing thru the infamous telia.net.

Anyone who use filesharing websites like uploaded? The past 3 days it has become unusable. In Chrome download manager I get Network Error after about 5 minutes. It has become impossible to download largish files.

Here we go again. I can already feel browsing on mybroadband becoming slower. Friday close to lunch time it starts. I have a feeling this weekend is going to be really bad again

I find downloading from news servers like news.saix.co.za my line flys.
Even linux updates are fine.

But streaming through XBMC, I get timeouts.

I am very close to moving from my 2Mbps uncapped to WebAfica 60 + 60 for R199. Really really close...

Im currently researching Webafrica too (Even phoned, but they took to long to answer).

Seems things have improved this side after almost two/three weeks of so to say nothing.

Download Speed: 3535 kbps (441.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 399 kbps (49.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 189 ms

PS: 4Mbps line

Does Telkom throttle home uncapped users after a certain threshold?
Is there a way with a telkom home uncapped account to see what your usage is?

This still at your Moms?

Yes

Did Telkom do anything constructive after your last fault report?

No, neither of us had any contact/communication from Telkom and no feedback on the last two faults reported. Guess the faults were also just closed. The other issues in regards to billing has also not been responded to yet.

She will however be cancelling the line today and be going over on mobile as from next week, will be buying necessary equipment for her this weekend. Only use around 10GB a month, if that much so mobile should be more reliable.

These last problems from Telkom was the final straw. I can understand that problems crop up but the staying quit and or denying issues is what p**** on my battery.

Yes, throttling depends on what line you have. IIRC on a 2 meg you will be trottled from around 300GB, sure others will provide a more accurate picture on this or just look back in this thread.

This is the link i use, log in there and you will be able to see your daily/monthly usages

Wow I don't know what has been going on the past two weeks but after a year of great service I'm seriously considering moving now....

Mickza - I've had no issues just like many others. In the last 2 days however streaming has been really poor. Totally unusable.
Browsing is also incredibly slow. News still flying though.

Interesting that streaming is still poor, I assumed that browsing had taken a knock after hours due to a change in QoS favouring VOD/gamers (I'm not into either).

Any gamers/Netflix suscribers care to comment?

BTW I wonder how many people experiencing problems are using esoteric DNS settings instead of TI's auto-assigned servers - another thought, I moved to 10MB uncapped from 4MB in December maybe there are less users competing for resources on that profile?

Well in the last week i was able to stream netflix for the first time although it was in the day and in the last three days i was able to play some online gaming although a bit laggy. So def an improvement but not nearly where it should be, i work from home sometimes and normal browsing and VPN to work is not great at all.

I can't use TI to be competive. Pings are high and dc reguraly.
No problem with my backup account.

Well I play Guild Wars 2 - and the last 2-3 days performance on my 1mb line has been reasonably decent - just an 8 minute or so period last night when there was no sevice somewhere around 19:00 or so ... , using auto assigned DNS.

Waiting patiently for my upgrade to 2mb but that also might be why Things are looking up I.e. I am not yet on 2mb so contention is not bad ...
