This Dstv Now app is so buggy. Shouldnt need to constantly clear the app cache etc.
 
Regarding google assistant - please see below instruction - Credit goes to [MENTION=403060]Sumen[/MENTION]

1- Download the latest "Google app for Android TV" from apkmirror.

2 - Install

3 - Go to "Settings"

4 - Scroll to "Preferences" and select "Language"

5 - Look for "English (United States)(US)" and select it

6 - Google Assistant will be enabled

Any other type of English will revert to normal voice control.

To use the "Google Assistant", click the mic icon and speak. If you want to follow up the Question or ask another question you need to hold the mic icon for a few seconds.

Telkom replaced my Litbox. I received an A07 Box. I returned a A11. (Could be old inventory)
Nonetheless, it was sealed and everything. And i inspected it in the store before leaving, and was happy that it was a new unit. I did have a stern word with the store manager regarding their retarded returns/repair policy.

Some things to note:

- For safety i did a factory reset, checked for updates, etc. installed all my apps and so far its running fine.

- The A07 did not have DSTVNow preinstalled but it did have Showmax installed. (No biggie, just grabbed it off the playstore)

- I can confirm that the bluetooth works. I was able to connect 2 bluetooth controllers. (i was unable to connect my controllers via bluetooth to the A11.)

- The A07 comes with a 2.4Gz wireless controller (and USB dongle) which has a proper Airmouse. Its not a very good one though. However, I would prefer an Airmouse as opposed to the "pointer" on the A11 box that i returned. (I will try out my Minix A2 lite this evening)

- the box comes with Google app for TV version 2.0 - which is rather basic, it allows you to do youtube searches and thats it. You can get the latest version from APK mirror (version 3.2) which at the moment lets you do alot more, it can search within apps, tell you the weather, give you score updates of current matches etc.

I'm disappointed that the box doesn't come with a remote that has a microphone. Obviously Android TV OS was designed with mic input in mind.
At the moment I'm using the Android TV remote app from the playstore on my LG G4. It works ok but feels kinda silly using my phone if i have a remote. I just want something that works all in one.

Apps I'm running and consider must haves:

- Terrarium TV
- Google app for TV (Ver 3.2 - from APK mirror)
- Kodi
- Blokada (ad blocker works like a charm)
- DSTVNow
- Crunchy Roll (for anime)
- Tunein radio
- ES File Explorer
- TV App Repo
- Chrome browser (You cannot install chrome from the playstore - the only way is to install remotely via the playstore from a PC)
- Sky Force Anniversary (works with 2 bluetooth controllers - me and the wifey can play together :) )

You can also use the unofficial android tv version 3.2.2 mod, posted for sometime now in the thread. Works better that the android netflix version
 
Has anybody tried stremio om the lit box?

From personal experience, it is quite good to use, but seems the lit box struggles with it sometimes
 
No, just asking, seeing that you said you got the A07 model, which seems to be the only one not giving trouble, and thought after your new setup, checking for updates and so forth, there might have popped one up eventually for the system.

I have it setup with a couple of addons. It works okay - but its more a fallback app in the event i don't find a good stream somewhere else. Haven't picked up that the box struggles with the app. Maybe just because i dont use it that often. I find terrarium struggles a bit - navigating from a season to an episode doesn't often register clicks

Like you mentioned, it is quite a good backup app, if all else fails, but ja, terrarium does seem to be "glitching" more, than previously, but, it happens more and more with the lit box remote that with a 3rd party remote, like you said, seems to depend on your/our own experience with the app itself
 
Just to ask, is the A11 and A12 models the only units that, so far, gotten a firmware update?

I can't come right with a Netflix version. Had 4.1 installed from link on 1st page - but buggy (crashes and can't scroll sideways)

Tried the 5.1 HD apk, but says not compatible with my device (same for 5.2 from apk mirror)

Don't want to install 3.2.2 from the link above, because of possible malware/ trojan issues (I also scanned the file on VirusTotal)

Currently have 6.2 phone app installed on the TV box - but obviously doesn't function properly because not optimized for use on tv box (without a touchscreen).

Are there any other android TV versions of Netflix without dodgy stuff? Does someone feel like repackaging as discussed earlier in the thread and making the file available to download?
 
Hi anyone know where to get the firmware as the android that is loaded only has showmax and nothing else and it does not update, i have seen the way it is supposed to look, I have done a hard reset and cleared everything but it does not work correctly.
