Hi Guy's

I have managed to build Android TV 8.0 Oreo for the Lit box using Amlogic S905x and Tx5 Sources and its working flawlessly. If anyone is interested to test it let me know but you need to make sure you familiar with the process it takes to flash an Amlogic Device to avoid bricking it otherwise I will have a to do a tutorial on how to do it and should be Able to post some pics later today.

This would be awesome! Does casting still work?

Can someone please remind me how to reset/reconfigure the remote??

The arrow on the screen keeps activating and it's probably because I put new batteries into the remote.

the standard remote that comes with the box does this...
its a bug... or if you have an iphone... its not a bug, its a feature... and tim cook will tell you why one day... and you'll believe him too... and then tell others.

JK ... the remote is just crappy... :( sorry bud.

I switched to a minix A2 Lite remote. It has a keyboard but the power button doesnt work :(

I think this will work:
Place remote on a flat even surface. Hold down both left and right arrow's for 3sec. Then wait a few more without moving the remote. It should then reset and work.

If this works I suggest you update the first post of this thread to add it for future reference.

Yeah for sure however it's been a week and no link or tutorial.

Possibly the poster, wants people to private message him, for link and instructions, but then I would expe t that he would request so in his post. But, so it goes.

So one issue with this is that rooting or hacking the LIT means that it won’t be CTS certified any longer and certain apps that rely on a certified box, will no longer work ie DSTV Now. Aside from that, you’re voiding the warranty and as you’re removed from GOTA (Google Over The Air), you’ll no longer receive any updates on the box.

I doubt Telkom will put out an Official Version since the Box had quite a lot of issues.

There will be an official Android 8.0 for the LIT before the end of the year
