So one issue with this is that rooting or hacking the LIT means that it won’t be CTS certified any longer and certain apps that rely on a certified box, will no longer work ie DSTV Now. Aside from that, you’re voiding the warranty and as you’re removed from GOTA (Google Over The Air), you’ll no longer receive any updates on the box.

There will be an official Android 8.0 for the LIT before the end of the year
If this is the case, I'll wait it out.

What's new for Android TV on Android TV 8.0? Anything of note?

I don't have all the details - but the biggest is UI change and voice optimization. There are under the cover tweaks for performance and stability too.

What about devices that were unable to update with the last firmware that was pushed? Mine still has not updated.

Have an A11 ( x 2 ), LIT TV boxes, not seen anything about YouTube being fixed, still on factory version for that reason.
Ok ... they'll all get the upgrade.

I did think YouTube was a non issue though ... My bad

Netflix working great, thanks for the link to the APK, some posts back. :)

Not the most user friendly version of Netflix though... I think the real android tv version (as opposed to plain android version) is better suited for the remote.

The APK link is for a working android tv version - much more user friendly than trying to use the android version on the tv box.

I wonder whether we are referring to the same link on here? Which one you referring to?

I agree. Pity that this is the only version that works.

That may be so, but one is not available, so one uses what one has.

FINALY !!!! Found a modded Netflix tv app on xdev

Here is the app. Just uninstall all versions of Netflix (the tv version). Installed it on my LIT and it’s working 100%

https://www.dropbox.com/s/jtleyxmdmrbqfo0/Netflix_3.2.2-Android_TV_Mod.apk?dl=0

Maybe put it on the first page for those looking for the Netflix tv app

The netflix android tv app that works on the LIT box (the quoted post has been linked to a few times through the thread) - Netflix_3.2.2-Android_TV_Mod.apk (see above for link)

I was told not to worry about what virustotal.com picks up - none of the main scanners pick anything up and I've been using it happily for a few months.
