Check how the audio is being routed on the video software, it may only be sending audio via the incorrect output.

How are you getting the sound to the speakers?
 
Set the correct speaker number, support audio codecs, and the correct audio output on the apps settings.

That should work fine via HDMI, just check in the video software that the audio is being sent via HDMI and that your home theatre can decode whatever audio codec it is.
 
Need some help m not sure if this been covered before.
I have a problem using DStv. There is no live channels just a blank screen with no error code. I have cleared cache and updated app still not working.
@dstv live chat not helping at all

Thanks. Seems to have it sorted. Have a fairly old LIT box. Not a lot of sou d settings on the app and after playing with a number of different options the characters regained their voices
 
Anyone had experience with the MyGica ATV1960 which can have an internal hd
 
Hi, can anyone kindly assist. My idea is to use TV for picture, and AV receiver for sound. I have LIT box plugged into the TV via HDMI port on LIT box. Then since the TV does not have optic out or ARC HDMI, i connect optic out port from LIT box to my AV receiver. Then in the sound settings on the LIT box, I set surround to auto. But when I watch Netflix, since it supports DD, i get an error, "We having trouble playing this title right now" . This message comes up no matter what i try to play on Netflix. However, if i disable auto surround in the settings of the LIT box, there is sound from AV receiver, but only stereo. I have tried just about everything. Anyone have same problem and can kindly assist? Thanks D.

From what I remember, Netflix outputs surround sound as DD+ (Dolby Digital Plus). The issue is that DD+ is not supported via optical cable and I don't think LIT can recode DD+ to standard DD (Dolby Digital 5.1).

I think the reason for your error is that your tv probably doesn't support DD+ either, and when the LIT and TV do the initial hdmi handshake, DD+ is not supported. So when Netflix starts to play with surround on, it fails as your tv doesn't support DD+.

Does your AVR not have HDMI out? So plug LIT Into AVR, and then TV plugs into AVR output.
 
Lan port on my lit box stopped working. I checked with another device, and no problem with cable.

Any pointers. Has this happened to anyone else?

Wifi still working, but signal not good in that specific room.

Many thanks. You are 100% spot on. Now I understand clearly the issue. Unfortunately, my amp, Marantz SR7500, number of years old now and, which i just love, does not have any HDMI inputs and outputs. Let me also add that I also did exactly the same connection setup above but replaced it with my apple TV box, 1st generation, and it works well. However, its a real pity its too slow and does not support portable usb drive. This is where LIT box is handy.

As another test yesterday, i used HDMI 4 x 2 MATRIX SWITCH as follows: LIT HDMI out, into the switch. Matrix switch HDMI output input into the HDMI port of the TV. Then the TOSLINK out of the switch into the Marantz AVR. Still did not work

Well, your explanation, explains it all very well. Will have to look at upgrading both amp and tv in the future. Many thanks again for your expert advice. Regards D.

I read earlier this year that Android TV 9 has DD+ to DD conversation as some were beta testers for Mi Box. LIT should be getting the upgrade from 8 to 9 according to some posts here, no guarantees though.
 
Hey guys, LIT started to splutter and stutter and get stuck and picture freezes and sound continues or visa versa. Does this will local file and with streaming.

Any ideas??

Hi Guys, recently moved our tv/telkom lit box to the bottom room, about 5 steps away from where it used to be. Now it the box seems to lose wifi signal every 30min? Thinking of getting a wifi extender however its not that far, my mi box which is further away still gets signal and it only loses after 30min? maybe the box getting old???
 
Anyone know where I can get a replacement power supply for this unit? A side from smartkit.co.za I mean

If I remember correctly it's either a stock 5v or 12v power supply, if you have an old router lying around then you'll probably have a 12v power supply, you may just need to cut the power tip off the lit box supply because it uses a small pin DC jack plug.
