Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

How nice is this all this wait to remove the netflix apk so that we can carry on with our lives like most south Africans do what South Africans do, "maak n plan" to get by, but wait why stop there?

Not only does it load an apk com.sdmc.netflixuninstall which is hosted under system apps, it uninstalls any netflix apk (even older versions that does not check ESM or bann list, everytime you restart your device while the Uninstaller is present poof no netflix)

Just to top it off

Someone really kind and generous was also so friendly enough to add the lit boxes on the netflix ban list just too make sure you can never use Netflix on the LITBOX unless you use kodi. Just so you can go and spend money again to buy another OTT box as if money grows on trees in these dark days.

Not that the netflix price increase is enough.

Its not like we are stealing Netflix or our devices is unsupported its just that the provider decided our lisence is no longer needed and expired it, nobod really gives a rats..ss but every body jumps on the opportunity to punt new devices instead.
Feels a bit like sabotage

Like your car going in for an oil change but a mechanic puts grinding paste with the oil so 3 months later oh well you need a new engine.

So it goes, just glad that Netflix is off it, so whoever I donated it to does mot come back to me and say, "Hey Boet this thing has Netflix on it, but it doesn't work, help me sort it out" - it is history, I don't want to know.

I rather this did not happen, as I found it to be a pleasant stable box. But yeah, I share your sentiment, about shoving an umbrella up one's rear end. Then opening it. That is uncalled for.
 
I just remembered that I did not choose the update. The bastards pushed it through and forced my perfect setup to go out the door.

Thanks for nothing @Nology. Netflix was irrelevant in my world (Android 8), with a custom launcher.

So Netflix works on Kodi?

DstvNow is a good experience on Kodi.

There are 3 different versions. The problem is with the latest version of the Netflix app.
The dev mentioned that as long as Netflix is working in Kodi, it should work with his modification of the Netflix apk.

Will post update once tested.

Once done you will get an nw-6-404 error in netflix.

I've made the apk a wile ago waiting for embedded netflix to be Uninstaller.

After the update your lit there is a new embedded app "nfuninstall" this app uninstall your NF apk once you reboot the box.

Use adb shell and pm uninstall the nfuninstall first before you install your modded apk.

Amazon, Hulu, Disney etc can all run on Google Certified boxes without crap limitations Netflix has. What's stuck up there arse?
